One problem related to headlights has been reported for the 2005 BMW X3. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The internal wiring of the hid headlights has deteriorated to the point of falling apart leaving bare conductors in multiple locations. This has caused the headlights, adaptive motor drives, and decorative lighting to be intermittent and fail. With the bare conductors, an appreciable fire hazard exists.
