Electronic Stability Control problem #1

The car has a warning system that has a proxmity system. The car at least once a month brakes while driving indicating a car or obsticle in front of me. Nothing has been in front of me while the car self brakes. The dealership said it must of been due to fog. With the repeated problem no fog or bad weather existed.

Electronic Stability Control problem #2

The error "chassis stabilization" popped up with multiple lights on the instrument gauge cluster. Steering, acceleration, and braking were effected. After backing out of driveway, made a sharp right turn and warnings appeared. They also happen intermittently during driving, most often in the first 2 minutes of driving.

Electronic Stability Control problem #3

BMW vehicles with chassis stabilization malfunction related to electrical sensor in the wheels leading to vehicle stopped , not running going on parking automatically, drivers unable to manubrate the car. My car has approximately 2500 miles , and was running without problems that they until suddenly went automatically into parking while driving, please check on internet this issues going on BMW's all over the world but mostly in USA.

Electronic Stability Control problem #4

While reversing our car in our garage, the car trunk pop open and hit our garage roof creating scratches and peeled paint on the trunk lid.

Electronic Stability Control problem #5

While driving my 2007 BMW X3 the vehicle in san antonio on bandera rd it lost power all warning lights came on and the vechile started to sputter till it's just died and now won't turn over everything works has power but vehicle will not crank over.

Electronic Stability Control problem #6

Problem is more noticeable driving at 80mph on the highway. Vehicle veer left and right and constant very small turnings need to be applied to keep car centered, much more noticeable when passing between two trucks or when moderate wind is encountered. Took to the dealer, they drove the car and mechanic stated nothing wrong with the car and. However, I never had this same pervasive problem with any other SUV I owned in the past. Is dangerous and can cause an accident while this is occurring.

Electronic Stability Control problem #7

Problem with the driver's seat heating mat. Problem with determining the cause of errors posted on the photo.

Electronic Stability Control problem #8

As an electrical vehicle I ran out of gas and was not able to put my vehicle in manual neutral and the vehicle automatically went into park which if a lot of oncoming traffic was coming I would have been hit. Safety hazard for not gear shift to press for parking.

Electronic Stability Control problem #9

It has first caused check engine light own with a fault code, then different electrical components started affecting including lights, brakes , acceleration, pickup, speed control while driving . I already repaired twice out of pocket as it was a pickup and check engine light on issue with code p2096 which involves pcv components associated with the recall. Due to this defective component I've already spent 4000+ in repairs and still the check engine light on and I'm driving unsafely as I don't have money to repair further. I also had to put my family on risk with 2 small kids as this SUV we use as a family car. Since the issue is reported a year ago and BMW still didn't offer any fix into purchase a new car to safeguard ourselves. I demand BMW to refund me 100k due to all these issues caused due to this problem and offering no timely fixes and causing stress and financial frustration.

Electronic Stability Control problem #10

I was stopping my car at a red signal behind another vehicle. I applied breaks and vehicle reached to complete stop. Immediately, engine picked up and started moving forward even though breaks are completely pressed. I had to do something to stop the car rear ending. So, I released and re-applied breaks. Vehicle reached complete stop and again started accelerating forward. I repeated the process but the third time it hit the car infront of me. The car is equipped with : auto start/stop engine (which stops the engine when the car is at complete rest). Auto hold (which allows the driver to take the foot off of the break) both the functionality are turned on when the incident happened, but I didnt take off my foot from the break pedal. Also, ac was running. I found another driver complaining the same online. . Read more...

Electronic Stability Control problem #11

While driving a message popped up on the display stating that the vehicle was experiencing a chassis stabilization problem and that we needed to drive moderately. Also all of the instrument cluster indicator lights have come on, causing the concern for a safe vehicle now. Also passenger restraint indication illuminates periodically.

Electronic Stability Control problem #12

While coming to a stop the car jerks violently forward with no warning, while moving slow it does the same, to the point where it now hurts to drive it. I get an error that says transmission malfuction, and without warning the car shifts to a lower gear, I have to stop, then turn the car off, when it is turned back the error goes away, then it reappears once again a day or two later. While driving, the steering wheel does not correct in time, and it slides on turns for a second, then over corrects, I have brought it in to BMW dealership, they have replicated the issue, but do not want to cover it under warranty, this has happened at highway speeds as well which is very scary, I am not sure where to turn at this point, so I hope that the NHTSA does an investigation, as I've seen other users have the same issues, and it just one death away from a recall, thank you.

Electronic Stability Control problem #13

When I turn on the car, the electrical dashboard has a delay. I turn on the car, start to drive, the dashboard will delay in turning on (happens at least 1/month in the last 1. 5years). Winter 2015/16 doors would not lock manually or by key fob. In fear of theft, I drove home and the doors would not lock. Additionally, dashboard notification said driver side door was ajar while driving (took pictures). Lastly, trunk release is constantly jammed and can¿t be opened manually, trunk release button, or key fob. From time to time I will not have access to the trunk and have to go through the back seat. I have been to my local BMW dealership in summer 2016 and the problems still occur.

Electronic Stability Control problem #14

After the may 2016 delivery of our X3, I reported a software defect, failure to display correct day/time. The defect was subsequently replicated and documented by the BMW service dept. We have yet to receive formal technical verification that this software defect will not negatively affect vehicle safety or operation. My numerous inquiries over the last ten [10] months with BMW's customer relations and services and executive customer care, westwood, NJ, have only resulted in continued misdirection and stonewalling. After taking ownership of this software issue BMW has not demonstrated any effort to correct it. Therefore, I request the following; 1. The full manufacturer's warranty be extend on this vehicle until the software issue[s] are completely resolved. 2. Reasonable compensation for having to peruse this issue monthly for the last ten [10] months.

Electronic Stability Control problem #15

Tl- the contact owns a 2011 BMW X3. The contact stated while driving on the highway at approximately 65 mph, traveling in heavy rain the vehicle violently decelerated to 35 mph without warning. The contact stated that the failure was similar to slamming down on the brake pedal however, the brake lights did not illumunate during the failure. The contact stated that the vehilcle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed but the failure could not be duplicated. The failure was recurring but only during rainy weather. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 49000. Am.

Electronic Stability Control problem #16

I purchased the vehicle on February 07, 2014 and while driving home from work my vehicle started jerking. It would jerk really hard and when you would try to stop by pressing on the brake the vehicle would jerk harder as if it is about to break down. The second time was in April, I believe the 5th I was having the same problem and then several warning lights came on. I called the dealership and brought the car in. As soon as the service advisor checked on the vehicle she said the car is not drivable and how it is unsafe to drive. There was another problem with the vehicle. I brought the vehicle in may for an oil change but when I was driving the vehicle towards the end of June it said I was really low on oil. I went to turn the vehicle in and it would not start.

Electronic Stability Control problem #17

I believe the steering angle sensor (aka szl) in my 2005 BMW X3 is faulty and thus poses a serious safety risk given its role in providing inputs to the dynamic stability control (dsc) system. It certainly warrants investigation. My vehicle has gone into an uncontrolled skid on three occasions, each time while traveling downhill at moderate speeds on curves. (only once did it do so following a light rain; on all other occasions the pavement was dry. ) luckily, no accidents or injuries ensued. I first noticed the problem the year I purchased the vehicle used in 2010; the previous owner likewise had noticed the issue and informed me of it at the time I purchased the vehicle. Today, sept. 15, 2014, my local BMW dealer proposed replacing the steering angle sensor (szl) in our vehicle, saying a readout of the fault codes detected faults in the sensor. I have elected to replace the sensor at a cost of $1098. Based on the seriousness of the issue, which some cursory investigating on my part appears to be a problem shared by multiple owners of similar model/year vehicles, I urge the NHTSA to investigate. Thank you.

Electronic Stability Control problem #18

Auto type: 2005 BMW X3 sav. The vehicle has had a history of failures with the operation system with regard to the transmission function and most recently we experienced a brake failure. When the brake pedal was pushed the vehicle accelerated. We had the vehicle towed in for repair and was told that they could find nothing wrong. This is the same result each time although the diagnostic reports show operating system failures. When questioned, we were told that he vehicle "corrected itself". All of this is in writing. When we approached BMW of north America, they have repeated denied any errors, and even have told us that we cannot use their diagnostic information. This seems to be quite a cover up between BMW and the dealer (vob auto sales, rockville MD). I have full documentation for your review.
