Drivers front seat active head restraint deployed. Fault code 930958 stored. Generator for active head restraint needs to be replaced. Vehicle was in garage, when started the error was displayed and is displayed ever time the vehicle is started. This exact part was recalled on my 2013 328i auto. It should be recalled on the 2015 X3 as it is the same part and is defective. Thanks.

I am receiving a "passenger restraint malfunction" warning. This means that if I have any passengers in my car and an accident occur the air bag will not deploy on that side. This is a very unsafe situation that should be covered by BMW 10 year warranty.

Passenger restraint system malfunction message due to bad seat pad sensor which turned of the passenger side air bag incase of an accident.
Passenger occupancy sensor failure. Reported under warranty when problem was intermittent, was told nothing was wrong. Problem now persistent after warranty expired and failed state inspection, can't drive until it's fixed. This was a recall item on 2005-2010 X3's and seems to be a very common problem with many models and years of BMW. Car warns about passenger restraint system failure, red airbag light comes on. Constantly chimes while driving.
2013 BMW X3. Consumer writes in regards to position of front seat head restraints. The consumer stated the postion of the head restraints were uncomfortable and painful. Updated 11/06/2017.
