One problem related to ignition module has been reported for the 2003 BMW X5. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Consumer was traveling 45 mph and vehicle surged forward, and drove roughly. A loud grinding noise was heard coming from the front. Consumer noticed that the check engine light flashed on then off. Consumer drove it to the dealer, and mechanic determined that two ignition coil springs needed to be replaced inside of the engine.
