66 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 02/05/2016

I received an intial letter back on 2/5/16 that there was a recall on the passenger front air bag. It has now been over a year and all I receive is letters letting me know that there is a recall. I think that the statement "excessive internal pressure could cause rupture. . . Resulting in metal fragments striking the passenger or other occupants. . . Potentially resulting in serious injury or death", is something that should be fixed in a more reasonable period of time. Over a year is too long and I believe that BMW needs to make an alternate plan if this is not/or can't be fixed immediately. I take/pick up my and other's children on a daily basis and require the use of the front seat. I don't feel safe knowing that this BMW's safety equiptment is not safe. In the latest letter I received it stated that if BMW was unable to remedy the defect in a reasonable period of time to notify the NHTSA - that is what I am doing.
