1 Engine Cooling System problem

Failure Date: 01/13/2025

The contact owns a 2017 BMW X5. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost automotive power and stalled. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the residence, and then to a dealer and was diagnosed with engine failure. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 24v608000 (engine and engine cooling, electrical system); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA hotline. The vehicle was towed to the residence and had not been driven since. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

2 Engine Cooling System problem

Failure Date: 10/25/2018

Tl the contact owns a 2017 BMW X5. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 18v755000 (engine and engine cooling). The contact called herb chamber BMW of sudbury at 833-805-4492 (located at 128 boston post rd, rte 20, sudbury, MA 01778) and was informed that the parts were not available. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and was not able to confirm when the parts were to become available. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
