My car was running normal and suddenly red warning lights came on and it said “engine overheated, pull over and turn off car immediately. ” I did pull over but I was inside an interstate tunnel. I tried to give it a bit of gas to get out of the tunnel but the car would not power with pedal pressure at all. I had to get towed. After a diagnostic at BMW of honolulu, the electric water pump had failed. No warning, no previous indications something was wrong.
