I’ve been having issues with the front end since I purchased the vehicle. The dealership had not diagnosed this issue yet in 3 years. It had caused my vehicle to be in the shop continuously, my front driver side tire is worn out. I had to replace all brakes and rotors after 2 years, numerous sensor issues, radiator loses fluid as well as software issues.
-electrical issues in the both rear doors almost burned the car down twice. Luckily mechanic was able to find where the smoke smell was coming from in time. 3,000 dollar extended warranty would not cover it and gave many excuses to not pay for it. -electrical malfunction issue with the emergency brake system.

My BMW X6 is experiencing electrical issues. The passenger rear view mirror no longer folds in and I can't adjust it to a perfect position. Also my wiper speed will not adjust. When in reverse the camera flickers badly. Sometimes it works, other times it does not. Very inconsistent.
Water pump issues, dealer supposenly fixed months ago. Car is like new with 40k + miles and already water pump replaced. Then noticed smoke & burning smell like possible fire from engine area a week ago while car in idle, I then took it to dealer next day and something wasnt replaced by dealer during water pump exchange/replacement. I think is a lie, I certainly think vehichle have that steering issue. Also passenger door from inside didnt open anymore which is a serious safety issue. But car like I said is like new to me for it to be 3 years old with 40k miles. Just major faults for such age of car. Bad BMW maker for pricey car and so many engine / electrical issue issues. I see why not many on us roads. 12/2015 something in water pump area replaced agian, driver passenger door from inside didnt open anymore, front cameras didnt operate anymore/corroded supposenly, coolant was gone (but water pump replaced 2014) so either leak or dealer was cheap putting back in, now since all these repairs car drives rough. And yes all was done on 1 visit at dealer. And I forgot to mention to them my seatbelt locks on me so I drive with it clamp already and just duck underneath strap when ready to drive. Windows go up and down on its own (state police witness to that).

While in traffic driving around 45 miles per hour at 8a on Dec 7, 2015 on ga400 my 2011 BMW X6 hybrid rear glass sparked with fire and shattered. The sparks were followed by a very loud booming noise. The defrost connector exploded apparently in the rear window causing rear glass to shatter. Pictures attached. You can clearly see where the explosion/spark occurred and where the damage started. Car is at dealer now and they have told me it is not covered. Issue is defrost failure. Car is under full factory warranty. The tint mostly held the glass in place. Problem after problems with this car. Hybrid battery replaced at 18k miles. Engine issues. Battery node issues. 43k miles currently. Purchased in 2013 with 3k miles on it.
Engine malfunction. Engine operating at reduced output. Engine has malfunctioned numerous times. Shuts down to reduced output, without warning and without allowance for traffic conditions, only allowing for 4-5 mph travel. Extreme danger! BMW has a "customer care package" that is a recall, although they are not calling it a recall. However, all parts of recall have been replaced on vehicle and now having to drive a vehicle that has not been fixed, that I am afraid to drive in traffic and do not trust to have enough power to merge onto interstate. BMW is simply throwing parts at a serious problem that has the potential to harm thousands of people.
This vehicle does not have any audible or visual warning that any of the doors or hatch back is open prior to driving the vehicle. According to the dealership at princeton new jersey BMW, the vehicle has to reach 5 mph before there is a warning. This is too late. I was parked in a parking garage when my BMW X6 key accidentally opened the hatchback. The key design is very poor as all buttons are flush with the hand. It will open doors or windows unexpectedly depending on how it goes in my pocket. As I drove off out of my parking spot unaware of the hatchback open, I drove over a speed bump which raised the vehicle and hatch back high enough to impact an overhead concrete column causing over $1800 in damage. This lack of warning system is unacceptable and BMW refuses to acknowledge the issue and repair the damage to my vehicle. This safety hazard also applies to any of the doors. If one of the doors swings open while accelerating the potential to hit a pedestrian would be unavoidable. I tried to return the vehicle back to BMW as I would not have accepted the vehicle without safety systems however they stated the vehicle has nothing wrong with which essentially they said if failed to warn me as it's designed to.
Increased battery discharge repeatedly since approximately six months after purchasing vehicle. BMW service says need to drive car more than 20-30 miles per day to keep battery charged and driving short, in city trips is not enough to keep electrical systems going. These vehicles should come with a disclaimer if you live and work in a city.
