1 Other Fuel System Pump problem of the 2013 BMW X6

Failure Date: 06/04/2020

Issues: both front thrust arm bushings worn, oil leaking from vehicle, replacement of microfilter needed, brake fluid flush service and sunroof not initialized. Comments: I took the vehicle in to be serviced as I was getting a driver stability malfunction error and when driving over potholes or any uneven street/highway, wheel would jerk extremely hard causing me to enter other lanes. Vehicle was pulling hard and I heard noise every time I drove over uneven roads. I was also getting an anti-trap malfunction for sunroof error message. Issues: vehicle sputtered, shut off in the middle of an intersection and would not start, vehicle still pulling and needed to replace the two front tires. Comments: due to the vehicle malfunctioning, sputtering and not starting, I was stalled in the middle of an intersection and could have been injured in an accident. Other motorists helped push the vehicle to the side of the road to get me out of the way of oncoming traffic. Issues: 2nd occurrence: faulty fuel pump and ekps (< one month after first repair). Vehicle needed right front tire replaced. Comments: upon driving my vehicle onto the dealership lot to have my tire replaced, as soon as the technician got in the vehicle, it stalled and would not start again. Issue: 2nd occurrence: left front thrust arm ball joint loose causing clunk in front end. Issue: 3rd occurrence: left lower control arm bent. Wheel alignment needed due to bent control arm. Comments: my husband was driving on the highway with our children in the car and the tire and steering wheel began to jerk. The steering wheel had to be turned all the way to the right for the vehicle to go straight on the highway. These issues put my family in danger and could have severely caused my family harm and/or harm to other vehicles.

5 Other Fuel System Pump problem of the 2009 BMW X6

Failure Date: 05/09/2012

Vehicle wasn't driving properly, constantly putting 1 qt of oil in vehicle every 2 weeks because I would get a message on dash saying low oil. I took my vehicle to dealership and they said not showing a problem. They ran diagnostic test and still nothing. Same issue happen again and more test were run and finally they said it was fuel pump system and it was fixed. The oil issue continued on until my check engine light came on and I took it to the dealership yet again and they don't know what the problem is. They've had my vehicle for 3 weeks, took engine apart, talked to their master tech and no one can tell me what's wrong with my vehicle. At this point I feel its a lemon and don't want the vehicle back. I feel unsafe driving it and think the dealership should give me a new vehicle and reimburse me for a car rental, mileage, time and energy wasted because I complained about this problem previously and they did nothing,. I've contacted corporate and all im told is give the dealership time to fix the vehicle. . . . Its been 3 [xxx] weeks and still they don't know what's going on. Customer service treatment is horrible, I will never buy this another BMW product again! I advise people to not buy this vehicle at all a waste of time and money--- information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

6 Other Fuel System Pump problem of the 2011 BMW X6

Failure Date: 02/22/2011

We leased our 2011 BMW X6 3. 5i in August 2010 from BMW of tenafly. The first high fuel pressure pump malfunction occurred within the first 6 month - in February 2011. The car stalled in the middle of busy highway and become uncontrollable while my wife was driving our kids from kindergarten. The dealership identified the faulty fuel pump and the car was in service for the whole 2 month, while we where driving loaner. Within a year from that service, in April 2012 the engine stalled in the middle of the road again. I was driving at about 40mph when suddenly the dashboard lights turned off and the car become absolutely uncontrollable, endangering the lives of my family, bystanders and other drivers on the road. Fortunately, I was able to stop the car by applying my whole weight on the brakes and enormous force to turn the wheel and roll into the nearby gas station. Miraculously, nobody get hurt, but after that incident my wife and I developed subliminal fear of driving, expecting our car to become uncontrollable at any moment. My wife demanded to exchange the car, stating the fear of driving, but our dealership refused to do so. This time it was in service for about two weeks. Within the 3 month of that service in August 2012 the ¿reduced power engine malfunction notification emerged on the dashboard, and the next morning the car refused to start. This time dealership identified the faulty generator, although all the signs of this failure was very similar to high fuel pressure pump malfunction. Today - 02/02/2013, without any warning signs, our car stalled in the middle of highway again. As in previous situations there where kids in the car, when it become absolutely uncontrollable, while moving in the left line on busy highway.
