One problem related to differential unit has been reported for the 1997 BMW Z3. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
While driving 50-60 mph wheels locked up, causing vehicle to veer from side to side, finally spun around. Vehicle was towed to dealership, it was determined that differential had locked up and needed to be replaced.
