I have looked up my vehicle information through gm. I can see where they had the vehicle in a shop in NY to look at it. Unknowingly I bought a vehicle with a huge list of issues! first of all, the torque converter was going out on my vehicle when I purchased it for a dealer. Second, the transmissions on the Enclaves, acadias, traverses and terrains are junk! I take great care of my vehicles and have never had a transmission fail on me at 100,000 miles! when gm has this vehicle in NY they should had replaced the transmission and the torque converter when it was still under warranty! they stated that they could not find out what the issue was. Every single person that I have been in contact with that has the above named vehicles are left with transmission failure at very low mileage. Now I'm left with having to repair the cost of both units. This should be investigated as to many issues are arising from these models. When you are driving down the road and the vehicle does nothing but shudder and shake while not wanting to accelerate is dangerous! my transmission failed out of no where! I currently do not have 4th,5th or 6th gear.

I purchased this vehicle September 2015 from carmax in charlottesville, va. Since that purchase, I have kept up all the routine mantainance on a schedule from oil changes, all fluids, tire rotations. April 21, 2016, my first rather large expense, "engine check'. I am hearing a noise in the front end. Warranty paid a portion of this issue and I paid the balance. The service department installed n strut, n nut, insulators and bearings. And the driver seat trim cracked and broke. (1st time); next issue is a total warranty issue that included replacing the torque converter. I advised them the engine was skipping and the car would slow down. They installed a converter gaskets, hose and 12 qts of fluid. 1/27/18. I advised them again of a leak from what I thought was the engine. At that time, they advised it was a vapor leak from the exhust pipe. Also. . The driver seat outer panel broke again, they replaced. And now, 4/28/18, they are telling me the drive shaft has to be replaced at a cost to me of over $2500 +. Now. Yes, I am concerned. This should not be happening to a relatively newer vehicle. . One would not think. My Enclave has 104k miles on her currently. This vehicle was purchased for my weekend visits with my daugher and grandchildren. To replace my 2000 Ford explorer. And now, I am feeling safer in my Ford explorer. I have never had to have any kind of work done on that vehicle, except for routine maintainance. And she is still running as great as ever. What can gm do for me and my 2012 Buick Enclave. I am losing my faith in this vehicle. Please help. Thank you for your time. I hope I don't end up having to pay for this issue.

On 11/30, we turned on the car, the engine light on the dash came on to service engine. We took the car to the dealership. We were informed the problem is in the transmission. It needed a torque converter, a pump and new gaskets. They've had the car since 12/2, and informed us they were waiting for the gaskets which will possibly be two more weeks.

On incline when in drive -- rolls backward, indefinitely. On decline when in reverse -- rolls forward, indefinitely. This makes the vehicle extremely dangerous to parallel park on an incline/decline, as at some point you will need to take your foot off the brake to get going and when you do, the vehicle will roll forward (hopefully not hitting the car in front of you) and the accelerator will need to be applied enough to move the heavy vehicle against the grade (hopefully not so forcefully that you will risk hitting the car behind you). Service department at local dealership pointed me to owner's manual (9-25): "if the vehicle is stopped on a hill, with your foot off the brake pedal, the vehicle may roll. This is normal and is due to the torque converter designed to improve fuel economy and performance. Use the brake to hold the vehicle on a hill. Do not use the accelerator pedal. " however, this owner's manual entry is in the "drive" section, and similar statements are not mentioned within the section about "reverse. ".
