37 Other Fuel System problem of the 2010 Buick Enclave

Failure Date: 01/20/2016

I was driving at 75 mph and my engine shut off; car began to slow, fuel dropped, power steering went out, brakes didn't work. I was able to, thankfully, get to the side of the road safely and use the rumble strips to slow me down. I turned the car off and 5 min. Later turned it on and was able to drive to a safe location. This is a common issue and all of these conditions are related to the "limited warranty protection" that gm issued Nov. 2015 (14582). This is a safety hazard. My car experienced all the other condition, malfunction indicator light came on multiple times ( may, sept), was issued a letter in Nov. 2015 and then this occurred in Jan. 2016. Stipulation for this to be covered, under 120k miles of 10 years whichever first. My car experienced initial troubles at 110k in may and this potential fatal incident at 125. Arguing with gm over this. Should be a recall, not a limited warranty. Seems to be an unethical company. Does it take death to make this right? this has occurred countlesss times- check the internet, 100s of customers have reported this. Does this have to be another Toyota incident for gm to recognize this is a recall not a limited warranty! I have all paperwork showing the issues except dealer states since they can't replicate, they need the check engine light on and the car to be under 120k to determine if they should pay. Gm is unethical!!!.

38 Other Fuel System problem of the 2010 Buick Enclave

Failure Date: 12/03/2015

Check engine light went on. Car was seemingly working alright, however, after fueling up, it was difficult to restart the car. In fact, at the last fill up I was unable to start the car for over 20 minutes while at the gas pump. This caused a great deal of anger, frustration, and rage in the other drivers who were waiting to fuel their cars at very busy gas station near lax. The dealership stated the fuel sensors needed to be replaced at a total cost of $1700. 00. Two months prior the air conditioner/heater required repair as a hose needed to be replaced due to a leak, a $425 repair, furthermore, the steering problem we seemingly had corrected 3 years ago is occurring again and is need of another repair. And lastly, 50% of the time when I turn off the engine and pull the key out of the car, the engine continues to run. The occurred around 80-85,000 miles.

39 Other Fuel System problem of the 2008 Buick Enclave

Failure Date: 10/03/2015

The throttle body on several gm vehicles has failed. I was driving my car down the highway when the traction control light started flashing, then the engine reduced power start light went on, then the car sputtered, slowed down and would not go over 30 mph. This could cause an accident when driving at a high rate of speed, the vehicle slows down quickly and you cannot get power to move over 30. I have researched this and it is a common problem with gm vehicles.

40 Other Fuel System problem of the 2011 Buick Enclave

Failure Date: 08/23/2015

While traveling with cruise control set to 79 mph, I accelerated to pass a semi that was driving erratically. After passing, I let off the gas but the gas pedal stuck. None of the cruise control buttons would work to slow us, the brakes would not slow us, eventually placing the car in neutral allowed us to safely stop along the road. Buick customer support basically said there's nothing wrong and until there's more incidents they won't do anything.

41 Other Fuel System problem of the 2009 Buick Enclave

Failure Date: 07/13/2015

Driving on interstate 75 north of cincinnati OH in bumper to bumper traffic on 7-13-15 in left lane when buzzer sounded ,traction control light came on and engine lost power. Trying to get to shoulder was a bad experience as traffic was having one hell of a time trying to cope with a car that suddenly wasn't moving. How a bad accident didn't happen, I just say it was good luck! we really like our Buick Enclave and would like to keep it. I have a code reader and no code was revealed. I pushed the traction control button several times and reentered traffic and the car ran fine for the next two hours to home. . . . . .

42 Other Fuel System problem of the 2011 Buick Enclave

Failure Date: 08/11/2014

2011 Buick Enclave, all recalls completed. When turning into driveway from a total stop vehicle experienced unexpected acceleration and crashed through part-way up garage door, side wall of garage, (right wheel over 6" concrete foundation), pushed items stored in garage into front wall and moved wall 12" into laundry room. Vehicle stopped when left front wheel hit concrete step into service door although tire left tread mark on floor until engine turned off. Distance traveled was about 2 1/2 car lengths. Damage to right front mainly. $12,300 dealer estimated damage. Driver suffered soft tissue bruising, chipped tooth, soreness. Air bags did not deploy. Odb showed no dtc codes. Vehicle visually/manually inspected by dealer per insurance company request - nothing found. Claim filed with esis/gm central claims unit. Edr, sdm & cdr data were downloaded using bosch software and pictures taken of vehicle. Data/pictures were turned over to gm investigators. Owner contacted onstar for data but nothing was received by them. However, initial sdm data indicates 'onstar deployment status data sent' and 'sdm recorded vehicle velocity change data sent. ' investigation currently 3 months on-going, vehicle untouched. Vehicle also previously exhibited issue of free rolling backward or forward when stopped on an incline. Auto transmission and torque converter would not hold vehicle.

43 Other Fuel System problem of the 2008 Buick Enclave

Failure Date: 07/25/2014

While on an on-ramp to an interstate, my wife was merging into fast moving traffic. As she accelerated and merged into traffic, the vehicle lost the ability to accelerate causing the engine to rev and the vehicle to lose speed. Not only was the surprise and shock of the event to include the very high revving alarming, but the vehicle was in an unsafe situation by failing to be able to maintain proper lane position in traffic. My wife managed to coast the vehicle onto the shoulder where she waited in an extremely unsafe position for help. It was found that the transmission was the cause of the issue which required expensive repairs. There was no warning prior to the malfunction and the event could have been much worse (I. E. Crossing traffic, train tracks, etc. . . ) at less than 70,000 miles, there shouldn't be spontaneous transmission problems which proved to be common with this vehicle.

44 Other Fuel System problem of the 2011 Buick Enclave

Failure Date: 04/23/2014

Similar to the recently announced recall on 2014 Buick Enclaves for a faulty gas guage, the same problem occurs on the 2011 model that I just purshased as well. I have owned the vehicle for 6 weeks and 3 times have experienced the gas guage indicate an inaccurate amount of fuel. Twice after the vehicle was turned off and turned back on, the guage reset to an accurate ready. However one after turning the vehicle off twice, the gas guage did not reset. . . . . It was not until the following day that the gas guage gave a accurate reading.

45 Other Fuel System problem of the 2012 Buick Enclave

Failure Date: 04/08/2014

Multiple instances of the transmission slipping into a "neutral-type-state" while attempting to merge onto/into highway speeds. This has occurred over 20 times in the last 1. 5 years. Dealership took car on multiple occasions and was able to replicate it 1x. Their corrective measure was to re-download transmission software. This did not fix the issue. This is an intermittent problem that poses a significant safety risk, as the slippage can last anywhere from 1 to 3 seconds.

46 Other Fuel System problem of the 2011 Buick Enclave

Failure Date: 04/04/2014

We were driving down the highway at 65 mph the stabilitrak / traction control light came on followed by an engine reduced power warning and the vehicle slows from 65 mph to 30 mph in about 3 seconds. The error message clears itself when the vehicle is turned off and left off for 1 to 5 minutes. The second time this happened we took it to the dealership and they reset the codes as a check engine light was also on. The check engine light came on again and the error message code indicated an idle problem. The dealer diagnosed and the TSB stated to relearn the idle which cost about $220. This problem occurred two more times with similar decelerations from 45+ to about 25 -30 mph in 3 seconds. The car forums on the internet for chevy traverse, GMC acadia list many people with similar issues. Many have called gm and have been told that gm is not aware of this as a major problem. Some claim there was a private recall on the 2010 models.

47 Other Fuel System problem of the 2009 Buick Enclave

Failure Date: 03/24/2014

While driving, I noticed my engine started sputtering and had problems accelerating. Soon afterwards, the "malfunction indicator light" (aka check engine light) came on and stayed on. I contacted the dealer and took it in for repair. It was diagnosed as "pistons misfiring". I had pistons/cylinders replaced at a cost of several hundred dollars. A couple of months later, the same thing happened and I had other pistons/cylinders replaced. This has happened about a half dozen times between March 2014 and today (March 2015). I have paid thousands of dollars for this same problem and I do not understand why a recall has not been issued. The dealer told me that there are several pistons/cylinders that can trigger this problem. Just by doing a simple search online, I see that many others have experienced this problem with the Buick Enclave. As of today, 31 March 2015, my engine began sputtering and the check engine light came on again. I have lost faith in Buick behind this and I do not believe I will purchase another Buick.

48 Other Fuel System problem of the 2010 Buick Enclave

Failure Date: 03/01/2014

When backing out of my garage I was turning to my left leave my drive in a forward direction. There was snow on the ground and as I turned and was changing direction I could feel something was not right. I was sliding sideways so I turned off the radio and the motor was revving up with out my foot on the accelerator pedal. I immediately turned off the key and after all had shut down I restarted car and had no issues after that.

49 Other Fuel System problem of the 2008 Buick Enclave

Failure Date: 08/08/2013

My two children and I were traveling on a highly elevated ramp between major highways in san antonio (281 and 1604) when my car no longer would move into a higher gear and suddenly stalled at its current speed. The engine roared, but the car would not go faster. The traffic behind me almost hit me, as I unexpectedly was not increasing speed as one would typically do entering a highway. It was extremely frightening to all three of us (especially my 9 year old) and required our exiting the highway immediately. The problem continued, and we immediately took the car into the dealership service center. The technician was able to determine the problem quickly, because it has been a frequent repair. The "wave plate" failure led to the failed transmission with additional engine problems. The bill exceeds $6000. Both the near accident and cost have been highly stressful. We want gm to address this "wave plate /transmission" issue before more people almost get hurt. The forums for gm vehicles containing this part have dozens of complaints already.

50 Other Fuel System problem of the 2010 Buick Enclave

Failure Date: 11/30/2012

When accelerating to enter a highway, the transmission seems to slip. The gas pedal drops to the floor and the engine loses all power. On several occasions the accelerator has stuck and the car accelerates or the rpms increase while I am braking. These issues have been happening intermittently and have been happening since 29,000. Car now has 69,000 miles.

51 Other Fuel System problem of the 2009 Buick Enclave

Failure Date: 08/10/2012

The engine on my 2009 Enclave was replaced in Feb of 2012 because it was cracked , at the time I had approximately 32k on the car. There was no indication of a problem the car just died on a major highway. The car again died a few weeks later due to a timing belt snapping. On 8/10/12 I was traveling from my home state of new york to virginia for vacation, with my family, and the car lost power again on a major highway at 10:30 at night we had to have the car towed, find a hotel and then rent a car to get to our destination. This time it was a fuel injector and an O2 sensor. We have incurred over $900. 00 in expenses we have contacted Buick and they are not willing to do anything about this car. We will no longer be covered by a warranty after 50k the car currently has about 43k. The car has broken down 3 times since Feb. Each time with my family in it, there is never any indication that the car is going to break down it just dies. I am fearful to keep putting my family in this car what do I do?.

52 Other Fuel System problem of the 2008 Buick Enclave

Failure Date: 07/08/2009

The vehicle repeatedly stalls at random times. This includes at high speed, in the middle of the eisenhower tunnel on I-70, to driving down the street. Repeated visits to the dealership reveal no "codes" so it continues to be ignored. My wife will not drive it anymore so I do. The dealership says "trade it in" but we feel like we would be passing a coffin onto another family. My family has been killed nearly twice from stalling in tunnel and high traffic.
