My SUV dies while im driving it. The engine stalls the lights go off. Its very dangerous I had a semi truck behind me last night and my Encore basically became invisible. No lights no power, nothing. He almost hit me. Ive had this Encore to several mechanics and none of them knows what the problem is. There are no warning lights on and it does not show any codes when hooked up to a diagnostic machine. I have called Buick corp. And she told me to take it to a mechanic.

During the past 3 years I have had to replace the battery 3 times, my daytime running lamps keep turning off, I have had to replace the ignition coil and now my car has been at the dealership for a week because there is an electrical problem they cannot figure out. The chassis control module was replaced but did not fix the problem. My personal mechanic advised the tcm was coding, but dealership said no. I am beyond frustrated! these problems started around 60000 miles and now it has 83000 miles on it and can't be driven. If gm knew about the issues (as found in multiple articles on line) why didn't they disclose?.

The display screen goes black during the day light hrs. Then comes back on sometime later. So you can't see the radio stations.
During the day, dash lights are nearly impossible to see. At night the dash lights up, but during day time driving they are horrible. This could be a real hazard when having to look down & study the gauges & take your eyes from the road. Why doesn't gm correct this problem? this problem exists while driving or sitting still during day light hours.
Complaint registered yesterday, but did not include photos which I now will include. 2015 Buick Encore has a dimming issue with the screen when under a cloud or perhaps a tree, while moving or stationary. Cannot see screen for directions when this happens. Must turn light switch to off in order to have screen return to brightness. When this has to be done, the daytime running lights turn off completely and cannot turn on again one stops and restart the vehicle.
Infotainment screen dims automatically while under a tree or driving under some clouds causing the driver to manually turn the light dial to the left to regain the brightness on the screen. This will automatically turn off the daylight driving lights. This occurs either stationary or while driving. There is a technical service bulletin in for another model of the Buick line but nothing for the Encore. The tech personnel indicated the sensors are too sensitive and there's nothing we can do about it.
Instrument panel lighting in bright daylight, while wearing sunglasses, is insufficient. In order to read the speedometer either on the analog dial or on the small digital display while driving, requires the removal of the sunglasses, take your eyes off the road, and peer into the panel in order to read the speedometer. The gas and temperature gauges are not visible at all. Adjusting the intensity switch has no effect during daylight hours. This issue has been reported to the local Buick service department as well as Buick headquarters. They said they will inform the engineering department of this problem. This lighting issue was verified on other new Encore's in the dealers lot.
