The vehicle started making noises and the instrument panel and screen went out. The vehicle was drivable, but the entire instrument panel was out. Radio stopped working, my screen went dark and the backup camera didn't work. The first time this happened the vehicle was stationary and the second it occurred while backing out a parking spot.
I was heading to work and needed to use my windshield wipers when they simply would not turn on - no sound from the motor or anything. For many days this has not worked, now going over a week. No indicator lights that anything could be wrong either. I need my wipers! the nearest dealership couldn't even get me in for a week (I go tomorrow). If you search this issue it appears to be a recurring theme with Buick and GMC vehicles - essentially the wiper motor just decides to die out of no where. I bought the car brand new. .
The lower portion of the windshield fogs on the center and passenger side at the start of the engine then becomes a full windshield fog when I turn on the defog and fan _ completely obstructing vision. This has happened when the car is stationary or being drivn. Currently, it is at the dealership for the 2nd time requesting repairs. The event is recurring.

When you would start the car the wipers would start by themselves. . . Now the wipers stopped working completely. . I dont know if there's warranty on the car or not.

During first snow of the season here in PA, had a wet/heavy snow. Snow was removed from windshield, but not the gully below wipers. No biggie, this is how we've done it on every car since I was a kid, cleaning out the gully when wipers cannot go down all the way. As I was driving and snow was coming down, some from above the windshield came down and added to what was in the gully. The wipers stopped working! imagine my surprise, the wipers came to a stop and were not moving. I could not see if blizzard like conditions, pulled over when I could, and started scraping out the gully. Wipers were freaking out doing a spastic short spurt and would not clear. Re-started car, and did the same thing. Had to get every piece of wet packed snow from area of the gully (under wipers) and re-start car for wipers to function normally again. Again, driving, coming to a stop to make a turn, and snow above the windshield that had accumulated in the heavy snow, fell down to the wiper gully and made wipers stop completely. It seems the design of the wiper motor doesn't just stop where it has to stop and then keep working, as with 99. 9 percent of other cars made in the last 50 years, if it cannot return to complete home, it just stops working. No car I've ever owned has done anything like this. To make matters worse, the wipers were still trying even after being turned off and was pinching my hand and fingers between the hood and wiper arms. As they tried to get out of their spastic mode. It was so bad, I took a bath on trading in this car for a car that is known not to have that happen. An awd car that cannot drive in the snow due to a serious wiper malfunction should not be sold in the USA.

5 month after I had bought the car I was going 35 mph down a regular street when the car stop then when I want to move again the accelerator but then the car came to a complete stop where the engine had smoke coming out of it. The dealer said that there was a big hole in the engine. After they repair it no more than two weeks later I was going down a road where the car just turned off and it did not even let me move out of the road way. And now 3 weeks ago I was going down a street going 45 mph when the person in front of me stopped all of a sudden and I hit my brake so hard but they had not responded which led me to crash in front of the person in front of me. Luckily neither of us were injured but now for sure I know I do not feel safe driving any of general motors cars whether is be Buick or GMC.
Don't excel unsafe belts need to be inspected.
The wiper blades failed to work during a wet heavy snow fall. The wipers removed the snow very well on the up stroke but on the down stroke the wipers packed the snow on the cowling until it got to a point that the wipers could not complete the cycle and they would stop working. I have a video using a bath towel to simulate snow and how to stopped the blades from working. The video is too large to send it in the space provided but I am sure it will send via e mail. I also have notes written in real time on all conversations with Buick/gm and two dealerships. I also have a letter and a condemning e mail from Buick/gm and these put me over the allotted characters.
On several occasions while driving this vehicle in the rain, I have nearly wrecked or caused an accident to others due to poor visibility of the wipers not functioning properly.
The side object detection in the sideview mirrors can become disabled, and the warning message "side object detection system disabled" only appears for a short period in the dic. However, the side object detection remains disabled (without the message) until the next key cycle. For safety, I believe that the message should stay on the entire time that the side object detection is disabled. When a driver does not know that the ststem is disabled, a serious accident could occur. General motors has issued document id 4426193, #16-na-069: side detection system unavailable or intermittently side blind zone stops working (Mar 3, 2016) which states "do not replace any parts for this condition. " the issue is not fixed and I do not know if or when the system is working. The side object detection stops working when there are no vehicles/structures/objects for 15-25 minutes. A warning message flashes briefly on the dic, but does not stay on even though the system remains disabled.

Tl- the contact owns a 2015 Buick Encore. The contact stated that the tent on the front windshield and the two front windows had excessive heat and light that emitted into the vehicle which had been burning the contacts arms causing blistering while operating the vehicle. The contact was to check with the manufacturer to determine if there was a recommended solution for the dealer to provide a remedy to prevent the excessive heat that was entering the vehicle. The approximate failure mileage was 0. Dyd.
1. While stopped on an incline, even a small incline, the vehicle rolls backwards 6-12" when moving foot from brake to accelerator (the vehicle has automatic transmission). We have come close to hitting two vehicles behind us when stopped at a stop light and the vehicle slid backwards. 2. Because of design, there are columns reducing visibility through an already small rear window. The provided rear view camera has almost no resolution and under most normal lighting conditions is totally useless,. The result is there is no way to see what is behind you when backing up or backing out of a driveway. 3. We complained to the dealer and then to gm and were told that "all other Encores were the same therefore there is nothing they can do. ".
Tl- the contact owns a 2015 Buick Encore. The contact stated that there was an intense glare that impacted visibility in which the contact was unable to see the instrument panel warning indicators on the dashboard/display panel. The dealer and the manufacturer were notified of the failure and were unable to provide a permanent remedy for the condition. The vehicle was not repaired and the failure continued while driving during the day time. The approximate failure mileage was 24. Dyd.
