52 Headlights problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2014

Our headlights/daytime running lights just quit working as we were driving. We were able to safely pull over and use the high beams. This has been an issue for over a year now. Sometimes the regular headlights work and sometimes they don't. All other lights work fine so we have been intemittently driving with just high beams only. We were excited to find out that this issue has been recalled on our make and model and year until we later found out that our VIN number was not affected. I find his is very strange!!! it sure seems like it was affected to me!!! I called gm recall help line and there is apparently nothing I can do about this. I would think safety would be a concern for your customers. I would also think you would like to know if other vehicles were affected. I would like further research on additional vehicles as it is obvious that other vehicles have been affected. Please follow up with me regarding this issue.

It started when driving along and the low beam headlights would go out, the only way I had any lights at all is on high beam, and I would click back on low beam after I pulled over and the low lights would come back on. This happened a few times and now I have no low beam lights at all only high beam. I have called a local dealership that has fixed the car several times before with electrical issues because the dealer I bought it from has gone out of business. And they said it is no longer under warranty and will cost be approximately $400-$700 which I do not have and I also see other complaints on this web site for the same thing. So tell me why isn't their a recall. This car is absolutely a hazard to have on the roads. She has almost gotten me & my family killed several times, from losing power to the headlights going out on very dark roads I have written a letter to gm before, I guess they wont do anything until someone or their family is killed.
