Low beam headlights randomly turn off while driving at night and day. Causing not to be able to see the roadway at all. Very dangerous!!! they give no warning at all. Only the low beams do this. Bright lights are not affected. There was a recall for this issue but they said my car was not affected. But it is 100% affected by this recall. Ot seems like the headlamp driver module is overheating. It gets extremely hot. This issue almost caused a very serious accident .
While driving at night, all of a sudden the headlights will turn off leaving you travelling along the highway at 60 to 75 mph (depending on what type of highway, interstate or limited access roadway you are on). This leaves you moving with no idea where there is a safe place to pull over to get out of the travel lanes. This has occurred numerous times, and I am asking to be reimbursed for the expense of repairing this defect.
While driving down the highway one night the low beams suddenly went out. I was force to use the high beams until I could pull over. Inside the car I could smell something burning, something electrical. Once I pulled over I notice smoke coming from under the hood and that the fuse block under the hood was on fire, which hold fuses and relays. The two relays that was affected were the low beam and high windshield wiper, so they no longer work.
Windshield wiper mechanism failed and the wipers do not operate at all. The wipers have all together stopped working.
