2008 Buick Lacrosse. Consumer writes in regards to brake system failure, incomplete ignition module recall repairs.

2 Ignition Module problem

Failure Date: 03/25/2015

The contact owns a 2008 Buick Lacrosse. While traveling approximately 65 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact was able to merge to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer, who diagnosed that the ignition control module failed and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 27,000.

3 Ignition Module problem

Failure Date: 08/30/2013

The ignition control module (not the ignition switch) failed suddenly while driving on the highway, causing the engine to shut off suddenly and without warning. The car was traveling downhill, so the initial indication was loss of power steering. I was able to pull onto the shoulder and then realized that the engine had died and would not restart. While no crash or injury occurred, the potential for a serious crash was quite high.
