Two problems related to air bag have been reported for the 1999 Buick Lesabre. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Driving north on avon rd, plainfield in, both air bags deployed for no reason. It blew the drivers hands off the wheel going 45 miles per hour. Did not crash. The passenger has bruises on leg. It happened early evening, still light outside, good weather. No warning what so ever.
Tl- the contact owns a 1999 Buick Lesabre. The contact stated that when they started the vehicle the air bags exploded. The contact received head and neck injuries as result of the failure. The vehicle was inspected by an adjuster for the manufacturer and it was determined that the failure was caused because the floor boards of the vehicle got wet and over time that caused the wiring for the air bags to become corrided. The wiring for the air bags were move from under the floor boards to the doors in 2000. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage and current mileages were 100,000. Rl.
