Four problems related to front seat recliner have been reported for the 1999 Buick Lesabre. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Consumer's vehicle was rear ended by another vehicle. At the time of impact, driver's side seat collapsed backwards. Seat would not recline back to its original position. Consumer sustained minor injuries to back and knees. Dealer and manufacturer will be informed of the incident.
While driving 55mph hit a bump screws popped out, and seatback went back, causing loss of control.
Our car was hit from the rear while sitting at a stop light. The impact, of course, damaged the rear of the car. But, my concern is the driver's seat. The seat failed, it was broken to the point where it failed to remain up-right. The back of the seat failed to stay up and fell backwards. This could have caused a serious injury. I would hope this problem doesn't happen again.
During collision front seat backs collapsed causing all flying material/glass etc. To hit consumers face. Mjs.
