Cpsc: progressive passport device plugged in odbc reader for 2000 Buick Lesabre. Power cut off from car and battery light went on while driving at about 25 mph.
The dash-pad has separated. . . And curled! the entire top dash-pad has lifted 2 inches, directly in front of the driver's steering wheel. . . . . This is causing a severe safety hazard! visibility has been blocked! I am afraid for my safety! please investigate!.
The upper dashboard has separated from the car as it is raised from the left corner to the middle of the dashboard, at the front of the dashboard closest to the windshield. In some places it is over 6 inches raised. It continues to worsen, moving over to the right side of the dash closer to the passenger airbag. I am concerned that this might cause the passenger airbag to go off by mistake. It has also reached the height where driver frontal vision is beginning to be slightly impaired because of this defect. I am aware that this is an inherent problem with these dashboards in this model vehicle. I have contacted gm and they have offered no assistance. This vehicle has been garaged and not out in the sun more than usual.
Dash is separating causing it to pull apart at passenger airbag and glove compartment. Worried air bag will deploy and harm someone or not work at all. Can't open glove compartment anymore.

I have a 2000 Buick Lesabre and the rear window regulators were made poorly and the plastic that holds the cable in broke, so far on both back doors. This should be a recall item since so many people have this problem. The dealer wants over 400. 00 to repair that would be over 800. 00 and they will break again in time due to poor construction. I have a part ordered for one, and will have to repair the other when I can afford it. One broke on the 4th of sept and the other went the next day. After going online I found that this is a big problem for Buick owners. I am the 2nd owner and it looks like the left side is newer by the looks of the plastic gear that the cable rolls around in the motor, so this could be the 2nd time it is replaced.
