Unknown Or Other problem #1

The padded dash peeled up away from the dash frame in fron of steering wheel. It is peeling across from left to right. I am concerened about air bag deploying without warning. G. M. Says this part is discontiuned and you can not find this part anywhere. There should be a recall on this padded dashbrfore some one gets hurt.

Unknown Or Other problem #2

When the car was purchased there were no dashpad flaws. Car was and still is garage kept. The dashpad has been lifting across the entire width of the pad from front to rear and exposing the structure underneath. This includes the passenger side airbag area which the dash pad is completly lifted and not sure if airbag is exposed.

Unknown Or Other problem #3

2002 Lesabre with a popped dashboard between steering wheel and front glass. The dashboard has bubbled up. Cannot force the dash back into position. I'm afraid it will cause the air bags to deploy. Sounds like a design problem to me or it's made of faulty material and needs to be recalled and replaced.

Unknown Or Other problem #4

I was driving on the highway a few days before December 3, 2011, and I heard a loud "pop" sound from the back seat of my car. On the 3rd, I was driving along and started hearing the sound of an open window in the back seat. I tried to close the back-right window with the power window control on the driver's door, but it didn't move the window (I heard the motor running, though). I then parked the car and got out to try to pull/push the window shut, but it would not stay all the way up. It had started with just an inch or so being open, but eventually it slid down so it was only about halfway up. . Read more...

Unknown Or Other problem #5

The dashboard is warped and is separated from its front attachment channel thereby exhibiting a gap. This condition was observed one day, which was not associated with any kind of accident or other unusual event. The potential effects from this resultant condition need to be evaluated and fixed by the manufacturer through a recall, especially if safety could be affected. The car has been nominally garaged throughout its life. The car has been used only (99. 9%) by its retired owners.

Unknown Or Other problem #6

I went to good year 3594 rt 31 baldwinsville,NY today around 4:00pm for a oil change they moved the milage from 44,000 to 71,000 and messed with the speed thing that tells you how fast your going. When you take your car some where for what you need done you dont expect them to act like kids and play with things like that. If any thing else goes wrong I will believe it was them and expect them to pay for what ever needs to be fixed I had the car for few months now never had a problem. They where in the garge laughing and saying do you think he will find out what we did if this cost money to fix it will be paid by them and I want my oil change money back and I want those guys in the garge to be drug tested. The manager that day was joseph d and tech was patrick w. Theres also the sticker for the next oil change to proof what they did. Thier phone number 315-652-6673. Thank you.

Unknown Or Other problem #7

My son was on his way to pick up my daughter on the 16, of September, 2011 and as he was driving the car shut off. Thankfully he was in a residential area where the speed limit was 35 but had it been elsewhere he would have been in a serious accident. The car cut off he was able to turn the car on after a few minutes and made it home after picking up his sister. Ever since then I have not been able to turn my car on. I asked the dealer and they said I should insert the key turn it on wait a minute and then turn key off. Wait 10 minutes and try to start my car. I did just that and my car is not going on at all. I want to know what is it that I should do next? very frustrated I need my car for work.

Unknown Or Other problem #8

The back of the front dashboard has been peeling up nearly since I bought it. It is peeled away all across the front where it connects near the window. I found some information that said it can cause a hazard if it peels to the passenger side because it can cause the airbags to deploy. It's an expensive fix. It also does take some visibility away.

Unknown Or Other problem #9

The rear window drivers side just fell down, won't go back up. Have been told thus is common and is from gm bad parts for window regulators.

Unknown Or Other problem #10

Dash board seperating front driver's side and passenger side, possible air bag inflation if failure of dash occurs.

Unknown Or Other problem #11

2004 Buick Lesabre custom issue: dashboard buckling, warped and coming undone from other components. Took to gm authorized dealership which recommended the dashboard be replaced. Quoted $750 for part and $500 labor. I was told it should be replaced soon because it could trigger the airbag in the passenger seat.

Unknown Or Other problem #12

Dash between steering wheel and windshield is coming apart. Looked on internet and it says Buicks between 2000 and 2005 has several complaints on this, air bag could come out if dash keeps splitting. The dash board is splitting.

Unknown Or Other problem #13

Dash mat separation bulge in front of steering wheel moving toward pass airbag.

Unknown Or Other problem #14

The dashboard cover has come loose and has left a 3 inch gap near the center of the windshield. An internet search reveals that there are hundreds of Buick le sabres with the same defect. I saw 3 similar defects in my own retirement community on similar cars. This defect could also cause a release of the air bag which presents a serious safety hazard. Buick should be required to recall my car and replace the cover. This is clearly a product defect. I have been driving more than 60 years and have never seen a dashboard cover come loose.

Unknown Or Other problem #15

Dashboard is wrinkled above instrument panel and is pulling away from front next to windshield. Is continuing to get worse. Concerned of safety that airbag may deploy while driving.

Unknown Or Other problem #16

The dash board is buckling up, we are afraid it may cause the air bags to activate causing injury or death if it causes an wreck.

Unknown Or Other problem #17

The leather covering on the dash detached from the dashboard at the windshield on the driver side of the car. Our concern is; if the car is in a crash will the airbag or impact cause the remainder of the dash to detach and cause additional injury to the passengers. Buick claims there is no safety issue and will not repair the dash.

Unknown Or Other problem #18

The speedometer and the rest of the instrument cluster on the dask has begun to malfunction apparently this is a big problem since there are lots of questions about these online where people have complaints. . Not knowing how fast you are going big issue. . Not knowing how much gas you have, big issue. And not knowing he running temperature of the vehicle is a even bigger issue. . Buick has known about this problem for some time and should have already taken action. Instead they stopped building the replacement parts and now it costs even more for them to fix the problem.

Unknown Or Other problem #19

The dash board is separating or "bucking up", which can cause the air bag to deploy if it separates too far. The dealer says that it is not covered under the warranty that I purchased. Does someone have to be seriously injured before something is done about this problem? I have seen other Buick Lesabres doing the same thing. There should be a recall done on all 2000-2005 Lesabres.

Unknown Or Other problem #20

Dash separation between steering wheel and windshield may cause airbag deployment on passenger side of vehicle , and is also a visual obstruction . In both instances death may be possible . Dealer response is very minimal at best ,but their concern as it being a safety issue is sincere .

Unknown Or Other problem #21

The dashboard right behind the front windshield separated and lifted. A popped dashboard between steering wheel and front glass is being reported hundreds of times. Cannot force the dash back into position. Dealer said I would have to pay for a new dash. Hundreds of similar reports are on the website below. . Read more...

Unknown Or Other problem #22

The dashboard is coming up right behind the steering wheel colum. It is starting to go across to the passenger side. A quick internet search reveals this to be a widespread problem with this model vehicle. The situation requires attention due to the fact that it could deploy the passenger side airbag. Looking for gm to take responsibility on a now known defect and safety situation. Also noted that visibility is reduced to the driver with the dash coming up and rising.

Unknown Or Other problem #23

The contact owns a 2003 Buick Lesabre. The contact stated that the dashboard was buckling toward the driver's side near the air bag and the contact was concerned that the damage could cause the air bag to deploy without being involved in a crash. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the contact was advised by the dealer that the cause of the failure was simply the age of the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 54,000 and the current mileage was 55,000. Updated 2/23/11 updated 04/28/11.

Unknown Or Other problem #24

Dashboard is buckled all the way across. Keeps getting worse and I'm afraid the airbag on the passenger side will deploy causing me to have an accident. I am afraid to drive it but it is my only means of transportation. I would appreciate any help with this matter. Buick really should consider a recall for this before someone gets hurt or worse yet killed. Thanks.

Unknown Or Other problem #25

Dash board is seperating from the front of dashboard and is curling up on driver side of car and heading for the passengers side and the air bag. I am afraid that passenger air bag deployment will happen when it reaches that side.

Unknown Or Other problem #26

The dashboard on our Buick Lesabre custom is separating from the windshield causing a safety hazard that could expose the air bag on the passenger side. It is also separating from the ac vents. It is also causing a hazard for the driver's vision.

Unknown Or Other problem #27

The dashboard on my 2001 Buick Lesabre is buckling between the windshield and the steering wheel.

Unknown Or Other problem #28

The dashboard is separating or peeling apart. It started a year ago, it was about 12 inches wide, now it has separated all the way to the passenger side of the dash and sicks up into my view about 5-6 inches. It is my understanding that this can cause the airbag to deploy for no reason on the passenger side. This problem is causing my car to be unsafe to drive. It is obstructing my view and could be lethal to the passenger. It is an obvious defect due to poor engineering and should be recalled immediately.

Unknown Or Other problem #29

Dash board separation. The dash board is buckled and separating in front of the drivers area, and is starting to separate in front of passenger seat, just above trim above glove box. Front of dashboard is raising, nearing line of sight.

Unknown Or Other problem #30

Dash panel cover separating and buckling in front of driver’s steering wheel gm will not replace and I feel it could cause visibility problems later. Have read online other drivers have had problems with it causing airbag to deploy on passage side if it separates all the way across dash.

Unknown Or Other problem #31

As we were traveling down a back road at about 35mph, I noticed that my dash speedometer was reading 85mph. It seemed like the gauge would go up, but would not come back down. Luckily, I have a heads-up display that has always shown the correct speed. Later, most of the rest of my dash gauges began randomly doing the same thing -- they'd go up, but not come back down. The only gauge that seemed unaffected was my fuel gauge -- until last week. It, too, is doing the same thing. I'm seeing lots of web ads to fix this problem, which means that many people are having this same problem. This can be dangerous, since, if I run out of gas on a major road during icy weather (which we have much of the year here in wisconsin), it could cause a major accident. If that many people are having the same problem, it's not a random chance failure -- it's a defect in design, materials or "workmanship" (which includes automated processes). Please address this problem!.

Unknown Or Other problem #32

The dash is starting to rise. I have not made any repairs.

Unknown Or Other problem #33

2003 Buick lasabre limited. Dash board has separated from the front windshield. It is all buckled up and could pose a safety issue with the air bag if it pulls away any farther. Hundreds of Buick lasabre owners have filed the same complaint as mine. What has to be done before Buick issues a recall on this defect which poses a safety hazzard?.

Unknown Or Other problem #34

Dash pad coming loose, bowing up in front of driver, becoming distached in crucial area at passenger side airbag. To repair will cost around $950 parts and labor. Also window regulators have been replaced in windows that are used the least.

Unknown Or Other problem #35

At approximately 25,000 miles, my 2002 Buick Lesabre's rear driver's side window regulator went out in the middle of the winter while a child was in the back seat. It just fell down, and barely missed harming the child. Three days later, I replaced the part. Four days after that, the rear passenger side window did the exact same thing. I replaced the part. Two months after that, both the front window regulators went out. Those parts were repaced. Four months later, the front passenger side went out again. Within two weeks, all four window regulators had gone out for a second time. They were all replaced at the same time. Six months later, and now three of the four are out again. (only the driver's window remains working at this point. ) I have spent over $1,500 in just over a year, getting parts replaced for the windows and still the problem persists. I have spent $98. 50 on different types of tape to try to find one that will hold the windows up, so they do not break while driving. I have had no luck finding one that holds for more than a day or two. This is an extreme danger to everyone in my car, along with others on the road, because I have to use so much tape to hold them up that I cannot see my mirrors properly. I have to travel with small children in my car with child safety seats, but I cannot trust the windows to stay up and am tired of constantly being scared that one will come down and break near the children, but have already spent so much trying to fix it that I cannot possibly sink any more money into 'fixing' something that is now apparent will never be 'fixed'.

Unknown Or Other problem #36

In just a few weeks the dash buckled up almost six inches between the steering wheel and the windshield. Contacted gm/Buick and they got the local dealer on the phone with us. Neither would do a thing except give me a quote of $1000 for replacement. After checking several forums on this issue, it appears there is a definite design/manufacturing problem that gm refuses to acknowledge. Prior to this the car had been garage kept and the interior detailed to keep things like this from occurring. Just wait until the airbag deploys while someone is driving and is killed or gravely injured. Such a shame this kind of situation needs to occur before something is done!.

Unknown Or Other problem #37

Dash pad curling way up where dash meets window. From drivers side to passanger side. I see from differtent web sites that this has been a major flaw for gm. Impedes vision to see traffic ahead. Gmnor dealers will address the problem for a recall.

Unknown Or Other problem #38

Back power windows - something on the cable breaks and the window falls down. Now there is no way to keep the window up other than to block it up on the inside door panel with a block of wood. The first window fell a couple of years ago. This week the second window fell. We hardly ever use these windows as there is just the two of us. It costs $600 each to repair. Our extended warranty is over. What is our recourse? is there any recall so the manufacturer would fix this? (having to block up windows is really a good way to advertise how great our car is! we had thought about buying another Buick, but now I wonder. ).

Unknown Or Other problem #39

Window regulators are junk! continually breaking! manufacturing design problem?.

Unknown Or Other problem #40

The car leaks on the left side. Water will stand in the floorboards. Under the back seat water will be under the battery and fuse box. The left side of the trunk is always wet and water stands in the spare tire well. It is not leaking from the windshield. The back above the back seat is not wet. Water gushes from front to back when going up and down hills. No one can find where the water is coming from. Its a boat.

Unknown Or Other problem #41

The dashboard on my 2003 Buick Lesabre began to separate and peel away from the body and buckle out toward the passenger section of the vehicle. This cannot be pushed back into place. It will very likely propose a safety issue if the air bags need to be deployed or may even cause premature air bag deployment.

Unknown Or Other problem #42

The dash pad is coming apart, separating and buckling up so high that it is now a visual hazard when driving. When the weather is somewhat warm or hot, the buckling is much worse. It is now separating further towards the passenger side and I am afraid that the air bag could possibly deploy while driving. This vehicle is equipped with a heads up display and even that is being affected by the dash pad coming apart. I paid lots of money for this vehicle and expect to keep and drive it for many years. With this safety defect getting much worse as time goes by, I now wonder how much longer I will be able to drive it. It is a complete shame because this vehicle is like brand new except for this unsafe factory defect. Every one of these vehicles from years 2001 thru 2005 that I have noticed in parking lots, driveways, garages, and even on the highways, have this same factory safety defect. I have friends and family members who own this same model vehicle but different year models, and their dash pads are exactly the same way as mine. Please make gm issue a recall and fix this safety defect before someone is killed!!!.

Unknown Or Other problem #43

The contact owns a 2002 Buick Lesabre. The contact noticed that the dashboard was detaching from the panel. There was no warning prior to this failure. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and they stated that the defect was caused by the heat from direct sunlight. The vehicle has not been repaired. The failure mileage was 50,000 and current mileage was 71,000.

Unknown Or Other problem #44

The contact owns a 2002 Buick Lesabre. The consumer noticed the dashboard was coming apart. The failure occurred without warning. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for inspection and they stated that excessive direct sunlight caused the failure. The vehicle has not been repaired. The current mileage was 50,000 and current mileage was 71,000. Updated 12-02-08 updated 12/002/08.

Unknown Or Other problem #45

- the contact stated that while driving the 2005 Buick Lesabre with 20000 failure mileage at 15 mph he reached down and his arm hit the gear shift while the vehicle was in drive and the gear switched into reverse and stalled the vehicle. The vehicle had to be restarted. The vehicle was taken to a mechanic ,who stated that there were normal operations and nothing was wrong with the gears. The shifting in gears has not happened again. The current mileage was 21463. Updated 04/05/07.

Unknown Or Other problem #46

The padded dash has peeled up and away from dash frame in front of the steering wheel. It is continuing to spread (peel up and away from the frame) across the padded dash from left to right, towards the passenger area. It continues to grow in severity, and I am concerned about the passenger airbag, with respects to it deploying without warning, due to the peeling/warping of the dash around it. I have put a dash mat (cover) over the problem for appearance purposes, but even that doesn't hide the growing magnitude of the problem anymore. I have been told that it will cost me anywhere from $350 - $1,200. 00 to correct this problem from independent repair shops in the area, to the gm Buick dealer. This is a design flaw, & "safety" issue direct from the manufacturer. Other than this ever increasing problem, the car is in immaculate condition, & I would like to keep it due to its mechanical reliability, fuel economy, & comfort. I believe an oem padded dash replacement, should be made a recall on the part of gm as this has not happened due to negligence, age of the vehicle (it began when the car was relatively new), or accident. I respectfully look forward to receiving a response from you.

Unknown Or Other problem #47

Dash pad "melted" according to dealer. Cost over $800. 00 to replace, although vehicle under warranty.

Unknown Or Other problem #48

Dad bought a new 2005 Buick Lesabre in oct. 2005. He had an accident Feb. 18 this accident was not his fault a car backed out of his driveway and hit his as he was driving by. Now he has turned it into his insurance and person to repair. Insurance ok car to be fixed February 21, auto body turned in for parts same day or next. Connot find rear panel door. Gm said it may take a while to find. So my dad has been driving around in a damaged car which gm won't give him a car to drive "even though it is their fault that he can't get this part" the fender is rubbing against the tire when it turns corners the bells are ringing because doors are jammed and damaged. Now he is 77 and drives church members to doctors and to get groceries etc. What is wrong with our country that a gm dealer would put a senior in this position or for that matter anyone in this country in this kind of position and not give them a loaner until there part came in to repair this car. . . . . . . . . . !!!!!!!!!! we have made a complaint with gm and also to a dealership in NY which he was really nice but also said he couldn't help because he was just a dealership in NY "my mistake" thought it was the big guy. So how does one get a car fixed or make a company such as gm give a person a loaner while waiting for his part to come in. His representation person hasn't even called him back after his complaint which he did call the number in the back of his car manual. . So people, don't buy a Buick Lesabre because if you do and you have an accident they don't have the parts for it and you drive a piece of junk around that is dangerous waiting for the part. What a safety hazard this is. . . . . If something happens to my dad all hell will break loose.

Unknown Or Other problem #49

2005 Buick Lesabre limited. The consumer is concerned there are no ash trays in the back of vehicle. He feels that someone may sit in the back seat and put the ashes in the plastic part of the door. He does not feel it is appropriate that smokers cannot sit in the back seat of vehicle. The consumer noticed this on September 9, 2005.

Unknown Or Other problem #50

The rear driver side power window failed. There was a loud pop and the window slid half way down and would not go back up. I talked to my mechanic, and he said that it was a cable that broke. He knew instantly because he had replaced many of them in similar Buick Lesabres. We know of two friends personally who have had the same problem. For one friend, it happened on more than one window in her car. To get it fixed at the dealership cost nearly $500. It appears to us that this is a faulty part and that the auto maker should recall and repair it at their cost.

Unknown Or Other problem #51

In Jan. 2005 the battery posts corroded off and acid leaked onto floor causing a hole. . . . Gm replaced battery. . . . Now I have both rear windows fall down and I had to wire them up from inside the door panel to keep them up. No response from gm. Then the left front window fell and I did same thing to it. . . Dealer just says it is roughly 500. 00 a door to fix. . . . This is ridiculous. . I have bought only Buicks for last 41 yrs and will rethink buying the next one.

Unknown Or Other problem #52

In November,2002, our vehicle would not start. We took it to the local licensed mechanic and he discovered the upper manifold and gasket were disintegrated. On further research he obtained a copy of a bulletin from general motors that stated if you have to replace the upper manifold, also replace the lower. Our mechanical insurance paid for the upper but not the lower. We wrote to gm and after a few e-mails, of course they said no way. I do not understand why there has not been a recall on this problem. It could be a very dangerous situation. . Read more...

Unknown Or Other problem #60

The consumer states that the sun shines upon the light gray dashboard, the dash board reflects up into the windshield reducing the visibility by an estimated 30 percent. The consumer has placed a black cloth on the dash to improve the visibilty and feels that the solution to this problem is simple and inexpensive; make the dash board flat black.
