Outside door handles on rf, rr, and lr failed. Mechanism inside of door broke making it impossible to open from the outside of the vehicle. Emphasize that only the lf door could be opened from the outside. In the event of an accident, it would have been necessary to use extraordinary measures to reach occupants. Rf, rr, and lr door handles all failed in the exact same manner (plastic component on door handle cracked/fatigued). Condition was corrected by replacing door handles. No obvious design enhancements were observed on replacement parts. Failed parts are available by request.

The contact owns a 2002 Buick Park Avenue. The contact stated that the interior locking mechanism is defective within his vehicle. He stated that the gears that hold the lock in place are no longer operating. The locks have been replaced twice. The dealer stated that this is a manufacturer defect due to the plastic piece of the mechanism. The current mileage is 39,000 and the failure mileage was unknown. Door lock failed.
1998 Buick Park Avenue drivers door handle malfunctioned. The tabs on the handle broke, therefore the door could not be opened from the outside.
Door could not lock or unlock with key. Dealer has repaired door four times. Consumer continued to have the same problem. Please provide further information.
The right rear passenger door fails to unlock by using electronic locking button or manually pulling on the door lock. The cause of the problem has not been determined. Please describe details.
