The contact owns a 1999 Buick Park Avenue. The vehicle has bridgestone insignia sl, size p225/60r16 tires. The tires were purchased in may of 2004. In may of 2007, the first tire began to separate at 45,000 miles while driving 20 mph. The contact was unsure of where the tire was located on the vehicle. The second tire began to separate at 78,000 miles in September of 2007 and the third tire separated in the beginning of November of 2007 at 87,000 miles. The tires were bought in a set of four and she believes that it was a manufacturer defect that caused 3 out of the 4 tires to separate within months of one another. The dealer replaced the first tire failure and paid for the replacement of the second and third tires. The failure mileage was 45,000 and current mileage was 87,000.

: the contact stated while driving 30 mph on dry highway roads, the vehicle began to shake. The shaking gradually became worse, causing loss of vehicle control. The vehicle was pulled over by a police officer, who inspected the vehicle and noted that there was a blister the size of a melon on the tread of the right front tire. The vehicle was taken to a private repair shop. The mechanic determined that the tire was manufactured improperly. The tire was replaced with a different brand. I have a 1998 Buick park Ave. Purchased at my dealership: brunswick Buick pontiac, 1120 route 18 north, east brunswick NJ, 08816, phone# 732-651-4110, mr. Jose pascual (service advisor), with original goodyear eagle LS tires serial numbers: 0606, 0610, 0615, 0623 on the vehicle. At approx. 41593 miles, my right front tire went flat in my driveway. I brought the car to the above dealership and was told that a gash approx. 5" long on the 'interior caused by a displacement of the tires steel belt, and upon further inspection by the service rep. , I was told that the other three tires were on the verge of a similar failure. Had the failure not happened in my driveway but on the highway I might not be writing this. I contacted a mr. Tom d. At goodyear (732-821-4700) reference # 671401, and was told to bring all four tires to a goodyear dealer which I did and was told the deterioration was due to normal wear and tear, but I told goodyear that no-one would buy these tires with the knowledge that the belts would come apart at approx. 40000 miles. I conveyed their comments to the dealership who did not agree with this conclusion and is holding the four tires for a g. M. Representative to inspect the tires. It was necessary for me to replace the tires prematurely at my expense as I had more normal use of the existing tire rubber. I am seeking: 1- reimbursement for the cost $409. 53 of the tire replacements from goodyear, and 2- to apprise your agency of this condition as recommended by a Buick g. M. Customer service representative ms. Kellly bristol, phone # 866-952-4368, x58036, service request # 1-172024374, so that any other persons having similar tires can have them examined for possible defects.

All four goodyear eagle LS tires that came installed on my Buick park Ave have tread separations. Three of the four tires have open separations. Expect that this is not an isolated incident. Tread separations developed over some time.
Tire has tread separation. Goodyear, eagle, LS #p22560r16.
Three of the four original goodyear eagle LS tires were separated resulting in steering wheel shimmy, the consumer replaced all four tires and is requesting reimbursement. Nlm.
Severe tread separation on left front. Other three tires showed start of deterioration. Good year dealer contacted the manufacturer and immediately replaced all four tires, adjusting them at 50% rear and 45% front. If defect had not been caught, severe injury could have occurred. Since all four tires were defective, I suspect that this is not an isolated incident. I have digital pictures of one defective tire. (dot number: m6x0bmwr50 tiresize: p22560r16).
