The contact owns a 2000 Buick Regal. The contact was unable to steer the vehicle and it was towed to the garage. The belt and pump were replaced. The failure recurred and the dealer replaced the steering rack assembly at the cost of $475. 57. The third time, the contact noticed smoke coming from the engine compartment. The NHTSA campaign id # is 00v371000. I was never contacted via mail on this recall. I was mailed information on NHTSA campaign id # 01v109000. What do I need to do besides get my vehicle to a dealer to have this srs unit checked? dt.
Consumer states the air bag light illuminates repeatedly.
Airbag light on dashboard comes on and off intermittently. Stays on for a few days and then goes off. I have read that there was a recall for this probelm in Dec 2000. I have never received a recall notice from the dealer. Crowley Buick located in bristol, CT or gm. I purchased the car new in July 2000.
