Ignition problems of the 2002 Buick Rendezvous

1 Ignition problem

Failure Date: 06/08/2010

The contact owns a 2002 Buick Rendezvous. After parking the vehicle, the contact was able to remove the key from the ignition before shutting off the engine. The vehicle was neither diagnosed nor repaired. The current and failure mileages were 129,000.

2 Ignition problem

Failure Date: 01/10/2008

The contact owns a 2002 Buick Rendezvous. While driving at an unknown speed, the security system warning indicator illuminated and caused the automatic windows, doors, and trunk to lock. The door locks intermittently moved from the locked to unlocked position. The contact could not exit the vehicle and attempted to place it into park and turn off the ignition. However, she was still unable to exit the vehicle. In addition, the radio lock button enabled and she could not move it from the unlock position. The dealer input a code that unlocked all the components that were affected by the security system. The ignition cylinder was repaired and the contact removed a fuse in an attempt to correct the failures. Currently, the trunk is still locked and the failures persist. The failure and current mileages were less than 100,000.

3 Ignition problem

Failure Date: 03/28/2006

Bearings and sensor on anti lock went out. Car stopping, locking up, not re-starting.

4 Ignition problem

Failure Date: 12/02/2005

The contact stated while driving there was flickering and clicking coming from the dashboard. All of the lights went out and the vehicle began to idle. Although the vehicle went into gear, it would not move when the contact took foot off the brakes. The vehicle was towed to a mechanic , who replaced the electronic control module (ecm). The vehicle was then towed to the dealership to have the computer reprogrammed. Prior to this incident, there were other components replaced on the vehicle which the dealership stated were related to the aforementioned failure. Also, the dealership stated that there may be other problems with the vehicle. However, the ecm needed to be replaced before they could be diagnosed.
