Vehicle Speed Control Problems of Buick Rendezvous

My vehicle has been picking up speed for no reason. The vehicle was not taken to nor taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing or repairs. Also, the fuel pump is not working. I can fill it up with gas and the light will still turn on. Maybe after driving for a couple miles or making a turn the light will turn off.

While driving the anti-lock and awd lite on and smell of gas from inside of cabin and sometimes from under the hood . Also when trying to accelerate the car bogs and the rpm fo high but the carvseama to lose power . Ob2 code is p0445.

My speedometer has stopped working. Mostly is reads 120 mph when I am setting still. Because it fluctuates from moving or not moving. But never correctly. I have been reduced to relying solely on a gps speedometer.

At 65 miles per hour on a highway in rich hour traffic my vehicle stalls out and displays 2 lights 1. "reduced engine power" "service traction control system" or something to that effect. The car will not start for 3-5 minutes. Then restarts and continues to do the same thing another 5-7 times before I was able to get to a safe location. When hooked up to a code reader the code that displayed was co240 abs powertrain control modile. . This is extremely dangerous.

When I would start my car in the morning, I would get a overwhelming gas smell in my to point of me thinking gas was leaking underneath my and I would get out and check and nothing. I took it to a mechanic and asked him if the car was leaking gas and he said no. I'm constantly adding power steering fluid to my vehicle at least twice a month . And recently my speedometer needle has started sticking and sometimes not working at all. Ironically my gas needle is always fluctuating throughout my car trips. I'm so nervous when I drive because I think I'm about to run out of gas even though I may have recently added gas to the car. This may sound simple but the gas fumes are making me sick and my two kids especially since all of us suffer from asthma. Please provide a resolution or fix for these unhealthy incidents.

One day I woke up got in my car started driving and it wouldnt go past 55mph I took it to east detroit auto on gratiot in detroit mi and they kept my car for over 30 days saying they dont know whats wrong with it. They changed the fuel pump and gave me my car back not working. I just recenlty brought this car and its a huge hassell.

5 minutes after being on the highway at 70 miles per hour the vehicle started dropping speed and message center started showing low battery, lights problem, service engine soon, brake fluid low, windshield wiper fluid low, low tire pressure, security service. Also, when I come to a stop the engine shuts off by itself as a low power, few minutes later, starts back up and can keep driving but hitting the gas pedal and releasing it after a few seconds at a time to recharge the battery so it would not shut off again. Also, after this happened the emergency lights began to come on and off by themselves. Took to a mechanic to have it serviced they said to replace the battery and alternator and if problems continued the starter. Few months later after replacing these parts, it started giving me problems with low fan as if the relays were bad but they are in good condition, low battery fuel and had to be changed again because the battery was not retaining charge. The vehicle still has all the messages in the message center, they never went away. Then within the last month I wanted to have the radio replaced, but I found out the speakers have power coming straight from the battery to the radio that causes it to overheat and makes static when the radio is on while driving. Also, the neutral safety switch for the ignition key got burned so now it is not working but still has allowed for the car to turn on and off and dry. A week ago, 04/28/14 the vehicle has been showing an error message in the message center, every light possible in the message center about the services that need to be done come on, which I assume now is the body control module that has gone bad. Most frequent message is security. Gas gage goes up and down and never gives an accurate reading of how much is in the vehicle.

Stepper motors in the instrument cluster failing. One gauge goes bad they all do. Cannot determine how much gas I have or how fast I am going cause all needles point down or stop at 70. I can be at a red light , completely stopped and it says I am going 110 mph. I have a 4 year old, a 5 year old, and a 5 month old in the back of the car. Its pretty scary for them as well. I have seen this is a common problem with gm made cars from 2000-2005. Wouldn't you think they would fix this by now? not happy with this car at all.

The steering grinds and the power brakes dont stop unless you pump them when this happens,its not all the time,and the shifting gear broke while I was parked trying to put it into reverse. I own a 2006 Buick Rendezvous SUV. This SUV has 59,000 miles. In November a sensor light came on that states "reduce engine speed" while driving and you lose all power. This includes steering, brakes, speed and the engine stalls. However the radio stays on. I was traveling on a hwy with a speed limit of 45 mph. I lose control of steering, brakes and speed control. The SUV stalled and I had to change three lanes to get out of traffic. I was concerned about getting hit or hitting another car. This has happened frequently. Two separate mechanics had recommend replacing the throttle body but one said there was no guarantee this would solve my problem. We replaced this part in December at a cost of $400 and now I still lose power and am afraid of being hit or causing an accident. As this week this problem has occurred every day I drove it. Buick insists there are no recalls regarding this issue for my 2006 however there is a bulletin for GMC but different models/years. This is dangerous and I am afraid to drive this vehicle. I cannot sell or trade this in with this type of defect. I feel gm should fix this dangerous defect. Please investigate.

Takata recall traction control, abs I have replaced both front hubs barings with abs sensors twice in 1 year. Still the traction control comes on when iam about to stop or turn.

Car is reluctant to move at low speeds (25/30 mph). Gear moves very reluctantly into higher gear. Hear loud cluttering noises from gear box, metals grinding against each other. This causes slowing the traffic and feel as if someone will hit me from behind. Feel unsafe to drive. Safety issue.

The speedometer stopped working properly and reads seriously erroneous speeds, both higher and lower than true speeds, which I checked with a gps unit. Apparently this is due to defective stepper motors in the instrument cluster from what I read on the internet. Gm needs to recall and fix these. The defect can cause drivers to travel at unsafe speeds, as they are misled by the speedometer reading.

My wife was driving down the interstate at 70 mile per hour when the accelerator pedal jammed itself down speeding up the car. When she noticed that this had happened she hit the brakes and nothing happened. The brakes seemed as though they were not working. Not knowing what else to try she then attempted to engage the emergency brake. It did not engage, it kept going down then just coming right back up. Still not knowing what to do she shifted down to low gears slowing her down. Still out of control she hit a ditch which shut down the engine finally bringing the car to a stop. I just thought that this should be brought to the attention of someone. She luckily was not injured but could have been though.

Speedometer on my 2004 Buick rendevous cxl SUV has not been working properly for the last 6 months. Some days it will be alot lower than actual speed of the vehicle and other days it will be alot higher, like showing 110 mph while I'm actually driving 45 mph. Some days it does not register anything other than 0 mph.

The contact owns a 2006 Buick Rendezvous. The contact was entering a parking space with the brakes depressed when the vehicle abnormally accelerated. The contact crashed into another vehicle. He then discoed that the floor mat was positioned under the brake pedal and on top of the accelerator pedal. The manufacturer would not provide any assistance. The contact removed the floor mat. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000 and the current mileage was approximately 80,000.

The car stopped automatically at a stop light on a major hwy. I thought quickly and put it in neutral thank you jesus it started. I could have been rear ended. That is a major problem it does it periodically. I never know when its going to do it. . . I have replaced the wheel hub assembly on the rear 5 times and 2 on the front. . My gas gauge goes crazy or doesnt work at all. My speedometer has quit working and the other gauges work when they feel like it. It seems. I have had people check the vehicle out no one seems to know exactly what is wrong they say the cluster is out because of the gauges I dont have 900. 00 to fix it. I am always putting wheel hub assembly on it. That gets very expensive. .

: the contact stated while driving at no particular speed the back ground color on the instrument panel made the instrument gauges impossible to see. The primary problem with this is in daylight. The sun beams into the window and there is direct contact with the instrument panel making it unable to be seen. The manufacturer was contacted and offered no alternative to the problem. The contact stated he could not read the speedometer during daylight hours. It was so bad that the contact's wife could not and would not drive in daylight hours.

Speedometer numbers are difficult to see during day light. Dealer informed consumer that they had several complaints about this problem, but there was no remedy for this problem.

Vehicle rolls rearward when accelerating on a slight incline. Dealer has been contacted. Please provide further information.
