1 Body problem

The contact owns a 2007 Buick Terraza cxl. While driving approximately 35 mph, the driver side automatic sliding door opened erroneously. The contact was able to maneuver to the side of the road to secure the door. The failure also recurred at different times while the vehicle was parked. The sliding power door cable was disconnected and the door was manually engaged in order to enter or exit the vehicle. There was an open and closed investigation related to the defect pertaining to a 2007 Chevrolet uplander. The NHTSA action number was ea07019 ((structure; latches/locks/linkages: doors: latch). The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure. The contact planned to notify the manufacturer of the problem. The approximate mileage was 60,000. Updated 4/2/12 as of 03/22/12 the vehicle was repaired.

2 Body problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2008

The contact owns a 2007 Buick Terraza. The contact stated that the sliding side doors were malfunctioning. The contact mentioned that she was unable to turn off the warning chimes and the doors would randomly open without warning. At times, the doors could not be opened at all. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times who was unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure and the vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 4,000 and the current mileage was 38,000.
