Newly purchased delivery of 2014 Buick Verano. From auto deal makers in chantilly, va. Not even 5 miles driven, car was hesitant at 20mph, felt like it was going to stall out at 40mph, my left upper lip started tingling, my kids felt sick as we all experienced a heavy taste & smell of burnt oil in the cabin of the car. Two hours later my kids & I still could not get the taste of burnt oil off our tongues and back of our throats even after eating. Contacted gm & chevy although they are fully aware of the defect they refuse to accept responsibility. The tingling has now reached my chin as though my children and I have been affected by some form of toxic chemical poisoning. This was the first time I ever drove my newly purchased vehicle, and have been poisoned myself & my kids by the toxic fumes the car is emitting. Total recalls should be done, and full compensation to consumers. Gm & chevy are fully aware of the defects and should be held responsible and accountable for the dangerously hazardous fumes that they are knowingly allowing unsuspecting consumers to become victims of their neglect and found guilty of all laws created to protect consumers, and the environment for these defective vehicles and found guilty pursuant to any and all lemon laws pertaining to aforementioned toxic chemical exposure. All of these makes/models that have similar issues should be recalled immediately for the safety and health of the consumers, and the environment.

Fuel sending unit. Yes. Loss of power and control of vehicle due to no fuel. Mechanics have confirmed it as a common problem with gm fuel sending unit/pump no. No warnings, no lights, no indication of problem. I received a second pump and sending unit from gm and had the same problem for a 2nd time of fuel reading inaccurately and causing me to lose vehicle functionality.

Fuel level sensor failure. I haven't checked but I don't think a regular dealer would inspect for free because it's inside of the gas tank. The gas gauge gets stuck at around a quarter of a tank leading a sensible person to assume their is gas in the vehicle. This is a safety risk because your vehicle can stall in the middle of the road as it did in my case. You lose the ability to steer the vehicle and put other vehicles behind you or around you at risk. The problem has been reproduced by me when comparing the range for my vehicle (396 miles on a full tank) then resetting the trip after filling up. I then drove the vehicle across a couple weeks and the trip said I was at 335 miles and the range said 96 miles, which is an overestimate from the predicted range when filling up. I drove another 30 miles for work in the same day and the gas guage seemed to be in the exact same spot as it was earlier (and when I was stalled the time before) and my predicted range actually went up to 102 (pictures to prove all of this upon request. ) and at 365 miles, it would be impossible fir my car to reach another 100 plus miles in range. My gas tank holds 15. 6 miles and my average fuel economy was 25. 5. When I filled the gas tank up after this trip, it put 14. 7 gallons in which means I had . 9 of a gallon. 25. 5 × . 9 is roughly 23 miles. Completely way off from the "predicted 100" it said before I filled up. Personal dealers have been completely unaware and I'm afraid to take it to a dealer in the event they try to charge me for it. No. No, there is no warning light and no check engine light. Gauge and light check works properly when vehicle is started and it runs the quick diagnostic by maxing out the gauges and turning on all of the dash lights.
Car would shut off when coming to a light slow to go when pulling off stalled had it fix at john miles Buick last summer now it started back . Car seem to shift gear on it own radio go dim them bright up by itself . John miles say they can't find the issue auto start on key chain do not work all the time even when you change the batteries.
Chevy cruze service side detection module was recalled. Buick Verano uses the same part. My Buick showed service side detection. The design allows water and salt to interfere with the performance. It shut down my car. Enabled my antilock theft system and all voltage systems shut down. The car proceeded to drive erratically. I was advised online by a Buick mechanic to unplug the device. My car is drivable again. This is a safety issue. I paid extra for the blind spot detector. Even if I replace it the design will allow it to happen again. It is not protected where it is located and it sends voltage error codes off(all voltage codes) service airbags, service everything. I have pictures as proof. Proof of the conversation advising me to disconnect it and a read out from a local gm dealer showing every voltage code failure.

Vehicle stalled at red light on city street. Vehicle ended up needed 4 quarts of oil which caused a broken timing chain and complete engine replacement. Engine was the 2. 4l ecotec, which has bulletins for oil consumption issues. The low oil light did not come on in the vehicle.

Our Buick Verano 2012 did not pass inspection last year. When the battery was changed, the date and time went back to that when the car was made. The date and time were adjusted to true date and time. During inspection, the malfunction indicator lamp was on all the time while stationary & in motion. We were told to drive it a long distance to clear itself. It cleared & it passed inspection after driving it for hundreds of miles. Then the not even one year old battery started draining itself without reason because the lights are on automatic. We jumped it when not home and charged it when home. This year it would not pass inspection saying fuel system not ready, evaporative system not ready. The malfunction indicator lamp came on again and disappeared after driving it hundreds of miles. There is only one error message now about fuel system. Mileage now is 29,449. We have used a lot of gas driving it just for the test as it started with 29,065. It does not make sense that we have to drive it just to clear it while we pollute the environment. Something must be wrong somewhere either the testing machine as it was down the first time we went for inspection or the computer system of the car. The inspection failure happened 02/2017 the first time & 02/2018 & 04/2018 the last times. The draining of the battery happened before the last year's inspection. Every now and then it gets drained again! we have to pay for another inspection because we exceeded the time limit allowed for the first fee.
The following was sent to gm in response to their letter of sept 2016 we just received a letter from gm that borders on being stupid. The letter tells us the accelerator pedal stalk may break off, rendering the vehicle inoperative. It goes on to tell us not to take the vehicle to the dealer unless we believe the vehicle has this problem. Please explain how this belief process works prior to a disabling failure? surely gm has identified what production dates had the defective part installed. What are supposed to do, wait until we are left stranded by the part breaking. Please rethink and revise the instructions you sent out. I expect more explicit instructions. I will be sharing my concerns with the federal regulatory authorities.
I was driving on the highway on January 2 at 218 afternoon goin 70-74 miles an hour. And the car turn off I put my foot to the floor not sure if the cruise turned off car was off I lucky was able too pull over safely I turned the car back on I call the onstar operated and the ran du agonists and found nothing. Which I find unbelievable I am going to subordinate Buick on Monday 1-4-2026 in taylor michigan.
Brought car from carmax they sold me a car with a messed up motherboard whenever onstar comes through the car it put the car in cruise control about 50 or less mph. It stays on 24/7 and now its draining my battery and now the car completely cuts off while im driving or it wont even start.
With the new push button start-stop there is no safety shut off. My wife became distracted and forgot to press the button and locked the car. When she returned from her event the car was still running. This has happened to her twice now. The remote start has a run time of only 10 minutes. Why can't the car have the same safety factor. If it had been parked in my integral garage under my bedroom I could have been dead from carbon monoxide poisoning. How many senior citizens do we have to kill because of the automakers lack of foresight by not including this safety feature.
