Vehicle hesitating when attempting to accelerate. No power or minimal momentum when pressing on gas pedal. Transmission control module would randomly drop out and loose communication at the same time the body control module thought the vehicle was in park. It would lock and unlock the doors multiple times and the car would jerk uncontrollably. Extremely unsafe while mobile. Issue first occurred randomly summer of 2023 and has progressively gotten worse. Now it occurs at least once every 2 weeks.

I have included here copies of correspondence between myself and general motors relating to an issue with my 2014 Buick Verano. As stated in the emails, after some online research, I found that there was actually a class action lawsuit pending in the court with regard to the issue I was having. I did reach out to the attorneys office handling the class action suit and received an auto-reply that they received my message, but nothing further. What I find very disturbing is that in one google search, I found multiple articles and forums as well as two class action lawsuits that address the very issue of excessive oil consumption and general motors has not done anything to address this issue with vehicle owners. At the very least, a TSB should have been issued to make owners aware of this issue so they could address it properly. There continues to be many posts by people still experiencing this problem which is unacceptable. The issue has caused unnecessary wear and tear on my car and many costly repairs. My car continues to have issues that may have been caused by the initial pvc problem.
Drove car into driveway to park. Shift remained in drive. Car would only go into neutral. I had to hold brake. Applied emergency brakes and put brakes behind wheels to keep it from rolling backwards. Another problem dealing with removing key from ignition. Vehicle taken to dealer for repair. Diagnose as broken chain in brake line. However, brakes never failed. I purchased vehicle in 2018.
Car has had excessive oil consumption since start. Easily consuming 1-2 quarts of oil on monthly basis. Had timing chains replaced at 75000 miles. Car suddenly stopped without warning 1/16/23 and completely shut off while driving. Now, at 170000 miles the engine is blown, due to chains loosening, and valves getting bent and scattered.

The contact owns a 2013 Buick Verano. The contact stated while driving at 25-30 mph, the shift lock release button mounted on the gear shifter fractured and she was unable to shift into park (p). The contact drove to the nearest independent mechanic and maintained the brake pedal depressed in order to keep the vehicle idle. The contact stated that she was also able to shift into neutral. The independent mechanic diagnosed that the gear shifter needed to be replaced. The contact provided the contact with a tool to depress the remaining part of the shift lock release button in order to park the vehicle. Upon arriving to her residence, the contact utilized the tool to park the vehicle. The contact contacted a tow company to tow the vehicle to the dealer. The tow agent was able to pull the remaining part of the shift lock release button out. The dealer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.
All occurrences happened on city streets and all during the daytime. First time this occurred was on 6/15/2022 with 148,467 miles. It went to the dealer. Lots of low voltage and lots of comm codes stored in a lot of modules. All were cleared out. They could not replicate the problem. Then it occurred again on 7/23, 7/24 and 7/25. Then on 7/26/2022 (twice) with 151,261 miles and again at 151,264 miles. Then 08/01/2022 at 151,475 miles four to five times. And so it goes. The car suddenly lurches like it’s downshifting. If you were to keep driving the car, the transmission does not shift. The faster you go the higher the tachometer goes. When I took it to the dealer, I had to use the highway. Could not go above 60mph. The tach reading was too high. All four door locks start unlocking and locking and they keep doing this till you shut the car off. Vehicle chimes start going off. A “service power steering” message appears on the center message board. A “service stabili trak” message appears on the center message board. A “service parking assist” message appears on the center message board. The malfunction indicator lamp icon is on. The brake system warning light is on. After pulling to the side of the road and you put the car in reverse, there is no backup camera picture. After shutting the car off and then restarting it, all is well until it happens again. Since the first occurrence, I’ve also noticed when using the remote control fob, the car starts then shuts off within three seconds. But it does not do this every time.
While driving home from work, my car, lost power a few times. Though, the maintenance malfunction light did come on, it was while the issue was occurring. I mention this because, in the car’s manual, it states that the light will come on before the malfunction takes place. I finally made it home, however, the car did continue to lose power while driving. The next morning I took the car to my mechanic, who experienced the same issues, then did a diagnostic test and found these results: p0011; cam position; rctisator bnk 1; timing over advance. Today while reading over all of the complaints, it is evident that this is a serious issue! this malfunction is extremely dangerous and can prove to be fatal, due to losing driving power/car cutting off while driving. I am surprised that this potentially fatal malfunction is not considered to be a recall. Please do what is right and set a recall ???? I also saw someone’s post that stated, there was a recall and free replacement on cars with the letters pp within the VIN#, we’re not be sold or leased in the us due to a federation violation and restricted code. Somehow, I was sold one of these unsafe and banned vehicles. How do those who fall into that same category rectify this problem? thank you for your help.

Theses item had a recall. . . And no one notified me. The issues was never checked or fixed.
On 10/6/2020, I was riding as the front passenger in our 2013 Buick Verano. We were traveling on the highway (70 mph) and hit a bump at the start of a bridge. A warning light illuminated, the engine rpm suddenly increased as if the transmission downshifted, the car decelerated and my wife pulled to the shoulder. We stopped, checked the gear shift and it was still in drive, the warning light disappeared, and everything seemed normal.
2/15/2020 as I was leaving work at 10:08a. M as soon as I pulled out of parking lot and started to go my car shut down. I was going probably 23 mph: the steering wheel locked, pedal went to the floor, everything cut off. Thank god I was able to put it in park. I was blessed to not be in heavy traffic and could coast to the curb as I fought with the steering wheel to get out of the street. I tried several times to start it and it wouldn't, I got nothing, the car was completely dead. The keys wouldn't come out but I figured it out. Husband came, took out battery and took it to get checked out, it was 100%. I called a roadside service to have it towed to chevy, where I bought it in 11/2015, but when my husband was reconnecting the battery the car came to life. I called and cancelled the towi, drove her home no problem; however, something is definitely wrong 😕this care is getting traded soon no more Buicks for me🙋.

Gear shift release switch cover broken causes car to 1)not go into park mode 2)goes into physical park mode but ignition switch is locked and does not release key please compare to recall number 16v50200 or Buick recall numbers 50490 and 50491 for 2013 - 2014 and 2016 - 2017 Buick Veranos, why was my model year vehicle skipped?.
When pulling up to park my car the release button on automatic stick shift popped out making it impossible to put in park. Would only stay in drive. Had to turn tires into street curb so car wouldn't roll away.
Vehicle stalled at red light on city street. Vehicle ended up needed 4 quarts of oil which caused a broken timing chain and complete engine replacement. Engine was the 2. 4l ecotec, which has bulletins for oil consumption issues. The low oil light did not come on in the vehicle.
Car jerks when sitting at stop signs, red light, in congested stop and go traffic. It also hesitates when you initially press the gas and are going under 20 miles per hour. The check engine light doesn't come on and when you take it to the dealership they run diagnostic and can not detect the issue.
The key has gotten stuck in the ignition several times. This prevents the car from moving and turning off completely. At one point the car began to roll as I was attempting to get out to get assistance. I was eventually able to go onto youtube and discovered the issue was consistent with the chevy malibu, so I used the same technique described in the youtube video to remove the key. The same issue occurred on the evening on February 21, 2019. The valet supervisor went to retrieve my car and was unable to remove the key out of the ignition and the car would not move into the park gear. I would move into drive, neutral and reverse but not park. I believe my car is also impacted under the following recall number:50490 and 50491. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
My car stops everytime I stop or when I put it in reverse and my check engine light it on.

Today I was driving my 2012 Buick Verano and without any advanced notice (ie. . Lights illuminated on dashboard) my vehicle lost power and just started to creep to a full stop. The dashboard was black nothing to tell me what the problem was. Thank god they have created a large pull off on the highway or I would have been really hurt. I tried several time to restart my vehicle the restarting process was not the problem it was putting the car in gear every time I tried to put the vehicle in gear it would shut off and the engine light is now on.
My wife and I were travelling south on I-95 in philadelphia in our 2014 Verano t w/keyless ignition. I was driving, and reached up with my right hand to adjust the center left vent. After adjusting the vent, I noticed that the a/c had turned off, and that the tachometer had fallen to zero. I then realized that I must have brushed against the start/off button (located next to the vent) and inadvertently turned the engine off. My wife (who drives the car more than myself) had previously related to me that she had accidentally shut the car off twice before on neighborhood streets, so I quickly asked her how she had managed to start the car again. She said that she had to pull over, put it in park, and push the start button. Well, since we were doing about 60 on I-95 in heavy traffic and in an area without shoulders on either side, this was going to be no mean trick and possibly suicidal. I tried to start the car by putting it into neutral and pressing the start button, but this only resulted in the gauge needles sweeping from left to right and the car did not restart. With no viable alternative, I put the flashers on and managed to maneuver through the traffic to the far right lane. Saying a prayer, I then brought the car to a stop in the speeding traffic, put it in park, and restarted it. It was truly a miracle that we weren't rear-ended during this ordeal. When our breathing had returned to normal, I asked my wife to check the owner's manual (which I had read) for any procedure to restart the car under the circumstances that we had just experienced and she reported that there was none. Between the two of us we have 92 years of driving experience and I consider myself an enthusiast. Our opinion is that the start/off button is in a bad place, unprotected, too sensitive, and that touching it accidentally causes unwanted engine shut down with inadequate warning to the driver.
From a stop start to accelerate into right turn right front wheel starts to wobble and tremors is felt in steering wheel. Wobble not felt in quick acceleration only in gradual acceleration. It has become progressively worse over the last 5000 miles. Took it to gm dealer. Say they could not feel problem. Took technician for a ride and duplicated problem several times. Technician s says he feels tremor does not know what is causing problem. The problem is definitely coming from right cv axle when power is initially applied to right wheel. Vehicle has been in shop four days no solution to problem.
The shift lever is on a console between the two front seats. Pushing the lever toward the driver changes the transmission mode from automatic to manual. There is nothing to prevent accidental pushes switching the transmission to manual mode at highway speed. My passenger, while adjusting her coat, has switched the car to manual mode while the car was at highway speed and I have seen her purse sometimes very close to the lever while she is doing things with the purse (the car is a compact--the shift lever is in close proximity to both front seats). Fortunately when she accidentally switched the transmission to manual mode I removed my foot from the accerator while I tried to figure out why my car suddenly slowed down while the engine was racing; fortunately I was not in heavy traffic where this could have caused an accident.
My new Buick Verano 2013 just backed itself out of my driveway and hit my neighbor's mailbox. Has there been any other reports like this?.
Second complaint, sway or wobble from right tire at or between 15 and 20 mph when shifting from 1st yo 2nd. Gm was in touch with dealership and it was told to me that all 2014 Buick Veranos have this. They said this is normal operation of the vehicle. What was told to me just not make sense.
Between 8 & 17 mil the trans has a deed spot, when the trans catches the car jumps.
