Electrical System Problems of Cadillac ATS - part 1

The contact owns a 2018 Cadillac Ats. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed, and the mechanic determined that the f-module, part number: 86815664, used to control the engine auto start/stop, needed to be replaced. The dealer was contacted for the part and informed the contact that the part was not available. The contact had contacted approximately 6 dealers, who confirmed that the part was not available. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 33,527.

Vehicle has an issue where it intermittently throws errors, loses power, accelerates on its own, and is difficult to steer. I purchased it with 12,800 miles in it and it has been having this issue since then and no one has been able to fix it. It appears from maintenance records it has been happening since it had 2800 miles on it. It has happened many times with me since I purchased the vehicle in November of 2023.

Vehicle would not steer lost power steering and loud noise. Had the vehicle towed to a mechanic. The mechanic informed me that the bolts for the electronic power steering had corroded causing the electronic steering motor to fall. He told me that it is a problem with these cars and gave me a reference number (n202301950) I called gm and they said it was not a recall it was a service bulletin which I never received and is now expired. The vehicle needs a whole new electric power steering rack and pinion assembly due to the faulty corroded gm bolts not to mention that I could have died or someone else could have been killed due to losing the ability to steer the vehicle because of the faulty gm parts. Gm said it is my responsibility to pay for repairs which is thousands of dollars again due to their faulty parts and no fault of my own also not normal wear and tear.

In center console there is a dual usb port for either charging or data for carplay. When two phones are plugged in and charging, and one phone is in passengers hand, while vehicle is in motion or stopped, the airbag warning light will illuminate. When the phone is removed from passenger seat, airbag warning light turns off. This will happen any number of times and is very easy to reproduce issue. This problem is only occurring more often now that I have a passenger in the car. But it will happen if any phone is plugged in and sitting on the seat. It went to the dealer with this issue a couple years ago but they couldn’t get it to happen again because the phone wasn’t on the seat plugged in. If the airbag warning light is on, then the system will not function, therefore, if this happened right before an accident, the airbags may not deploy, putting all passengers at risk.

I bought my car from a dealership. Owned it for 2yrs 2mo. 107k miles first issue came up after 3-4 months. Faulty power steering. Took it to service at a dealership they said I would need my wire harness assembly replaced as well as a steering gear. Problem still persists. Also one of the mechanics there showed me that the previous owner glued harness connector components together which is why I started seeing issues that weren't there before. Now today three new warning/service lights: abs, brake warning and traction control lights. I think it is the battery but I haven't tested it. Someone online with the same issue said he had to replace the electronic brake control module. So this issue has not been diagnosed. As a result of the traction control malfunctioning suddenly I spun out on the highway in slippery conditions but did not collide with anything. Both issues are available for inspection. The car was parked outside at around 85 degrees. After entering the vehicle and driving with the ac on for a few minutes the cue screen started to crack on the inside like a spider web. This has already been reported in 11576315 and 11325962. But I can't find any manufacturer communication on these. On the internet I found that there is a class action lawsuit but only up to the year 2017 and it has already been settled privately. Since the vehicle is out of warranty there is no effort from gm to pay for the replacement. Since the cue screen is essential for the vehicle operations, I. E. Settings, navigation etc. It's a safety issue. On the internet there are crowds of people complaining about the same issue. Gm should react and offer replacement. Especially a replacement where the issue is fixed, otherwise the replacement will crack again after some years. Thanks and br.

The cue system not totally working, and panel plastic is all spider web looking. I view this as a very bad problem( it won’t go to settings), no radio, can’t set the clock not sure on all the problems as I can’t get to it to find out.

My airbag is defective and other VIN numbers on my make and model and year were recalled and mine hasn’t and doesn’t work. Light still remains on. I have low mileage on my car too. Please do a recall on my airbag for my VIN. I also have replaced my cue system twice already . My model VIN hasn’t been recalled for that either. I should be reimbursed for having to keep on replacing it.

The Cadillac cue infotainment system has failed for the second time. Device was replaced 2 years ago.

The cue system screen has become unresponsive due to separation of the glue the system is pretty much the heart of the car everything electrical is controlled thre that screen along with the back up camera.

My air bag light randomly appeared and has been on for at about year now the dealership wants me to pay a ridiculous amount of money for all of these safety hazards including to fix my “airbag sensor” when I have never used the airbags. I am the one and only owner of the car which I purchased directly from the ed morse bayview Cadillac dealership. Faulty airbags and or sensors are a huge safety hazard. I need to know my airbags are working correctly as well as the sensors not only for my safety but as well as my child. My car has recently been diagnosed with serious transmission problems which include a vibration at 50 mph shuddering erratically and frequently to the point it is scary to drive. The transmission going out could cause me to get into an accident or be stuck in the road and put into danger which is another safety hazard. Lastly, the electric cue screen is supposed to be used for safety for many reasons which include hands-free directions when you are lost and can use gps without having to use your phone while driving. You need the cue screen to be able to access the radio for alerts and warnings. You need the cue screen to able to use your phone hands-free to prevent accidents. The cue screen is defective. The screens they use cannot withstand the heat and they sell you the car knowing the screens don’t last and will crack and no longer have the touch screen ability to control or use any of the features for our safety.

Started my car one day and the cue screen was black and unresponsive. I do not have any features needed to feel safe in my car (back up screen, radio, bluetooth, navigation, air conditioning, temperature control, etc. ).

Transmission drags. When stopping the car jerks bad and sometimes proceeds to accelerate. When at a stop auto start has a hard jerk I reported this problem to Cadillac dealership when I first got the car. They claim they couldn't find an issue. The touch pad goes out frequently.

The contact owns a 2013 Cadillac Ats. The contact stated while driving 25 mph, the vehicle loss electrical power causing the interior lighting and power steering to become inoperable. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer honolulu Buick GMC Cadillac (2945 n nimitz hwy, honolulu, hi 96819, (808) 800-4338) and diagnosed that the battery needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was out of warranty. The failure mileage was approximately 103,500.

While arriving at stop lights the caddillac roughly shifts down jolting the whole vehicle. Around 1500 rpms whether its sitting or just passing 1500 rpms the whole vehicle shutters and vibrates aggresively until around 2000 rpm. Rpms jump up and down between 1000 and 3000 rpms.

As I was driving my screen went blank while I was using my navigation system to get around and ended up being lost and had to stop and ask for directions on how to get back home. The cue system went down.

I currently have the cue screen has spider webs inside and crack. It is out of warranty. I called the dealership and it's costing me a $1,600 plus. I only have 75000 miles on this car. I drove 120 miles in since March.

The screen is starting to spider crack underneath the glass. Vehicle was stationary in my driveway.

The radio screen is cracking from the inside of the screen I'm getting a spiderweb effect that is not allowing me to see the screen. Can't see the speed of my ac fan becasue I can't see the screen, can't change to bluetooth because I can't see the screen, can't use my navigation system that I paid extra for because I can't see the screen due to the spiderweb effect. This is a defect as I have used the radio under normal use and it should not crack from the inside. I can't use any of the radio features due to this issue.

The cue on my cadillca 2018 Ats just stop working , I searched online and found out millons ,of Cadillac owners cue has stopped working. My car only has 60,000 miles, I got it new in 2018 June. The touch screen control on the center console is not working as designed. I am unable to to change functions, such as changing radio controls to air conditioning controls. I am umable to navigate the screen up/down and side to side. It bounces aroumd uncontrollable and when I drive the vehicle.

The fuel level gauge drops to e. The touch screen display does not work at times you have to turn off the car to get it to work.

The contact owns a 2014 Cadillac Ats. The contact stated that the touch screen failed to operate as needed. The contact spoke with delaware Cadillac (1606 pennsylvania Ave, wilmington, DE 19806) where they offered her no assistance. The contact was provided an estimate for the repair, but was informed that the repair was not guaranteed to fix the failure. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure and offered no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 60,000.

Cue dashboard console screen keeps cracking and becoming inoperable. This is the second time this has happened in 4 years. The first time it was under warranty, this second time it is not.

Dash control unit stop working and over heater.

My Cadillac que system is completely unresponsive and delaminated. This is a known issue with the 2014 Cadillac Ats. The screen on the que has been completely frozen and delaminated for quite some time now and I am unable to use any features with my queue. This happens if the vehicle is in motion or at a stop the queue is just gone.

The cue infortainment system is faulty. Besides controlling the radio functions, it controls the bluetooth and ac settings. The screen freezes all the time and bluetooth is dropping or pausing the calls creating safety hazards while driving. In georgia is illegal to touch your phone while driving but because this fault in the cue screen a Cadillac owner has to touch the phone to unblock or unmute the call. It is a very known defect on multiple Cadillac vehicles, Cadillac is aware of it but refuses to do anything to fix it.

The cue screen cracked and no longer functions.

The vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number: 19v086000 (steering). The dealer was contacted more than once, but could not schedule a time for the repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was not available.

I was backing out of my parking space when I heard a noise and realized that I could not turn the steering wheel. I moves the car forward into the parking space again and a message on the display screen read to service power steering. Upon my research the electrical module or motor has been know to stop working. I was not driving and I thank god for that because the steering wheel would have been impossible to turn. Researching the problem I noticed that the 2013 Cadillac Ats had major problems with the electrical steering. The NHTSA should look into this problem. My car is three years old and should not have a problem with the steering system. These electrical power steering systems can cause death because of the high difficulty to steer if on the road. Steering is nearly impossible.

Cue touchscreen fails to respond to touch. It started going bad at the bottom, but the problem "spreads" upwards making the entire screen unusable. The hvac and radio controls are all on this touchscreen, making it impossible to control these features while driving. Other settings for the vehicle are also in the cue system, and are no longer available for adjusting. Navigation becomes unusable as well.

The manufacturer indicated that the warranty had expired and the part needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was not available.

Tl-the contact owns 2013 cadilac Ats. The contact stated that there are three failures with theire vehicle. The heating and air condition in the vehicle has failed. The heat turns to air conditioning whe accessed. A switch in the sunroof is causing the sunroof to freeze when accessed and the cruise control stalls and will cease to function. . The vehicle was taken to gold coast cadilac at (732) 695-1400 2123 NJ-35, oakhurst, NJ 07755. Where they were informed that nothing could be done. Failure mileage unknown. Jw.

Warning lights & bells came on stearing and major system failure muscled car off the road frighting, if express way would have been a disaster! fortunately only going 30 miles per two lane road.
