Without warning, the steering linkage on driver side snapped while operating vehicle at a slow speed. I need to know if the same type of failure has occurred on other Cadillac Catera's or other models built since 1997.
While slowing down from 65 to 5 mph, the vehicle lost all steering power causing loss of control. Consumer managed to pull of the road. Vehicle was towed to dealer & they informed consumer that the harmonic balancer broke, which caused the steering belt to fall off. Currently, vehicle is at dealership being repaired.
