Automatic Transmission problems of the 1998 Cadillac Catera

Two problems related to automatic transmission have been reported for the 1998 Cadillac Catera. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Automatic Transmission problem

Failure Date: 01/10/2006

My recent problem is I can't take the car out of park. I try for more than 30 time and yes, I have my foot on the brake. This car has been in the shop more than 35+ time since 1999 and its nothing but problems.

2 Automatic Transmission problem

Vehicle will not stay in alignment. Dealer claims they are going by GMC specs. But alignment is off, causing inner edge of tires to wear down to steel. There was intermittent problem of shifting out of park. The vehicle had been in and out of shop more than ten times for warranty repair. Al four tires had be to teplaced due to factory related alignment problem.
