Front Suspension problems of the 1999 Cadillac Catera

Two problems related to front suspension have been reported for the 1999 Cadillac Catera. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Front Suspension problem

Failure Date: 11/01/2001

Catera's will not maintain front end alignment. Many owners I have spoken to including myself have experienced outrageous extreme tire wear even after dealer 4 wheel alignments and tire replacements. I have read many complaints on edmunds. Com of other owners with over 5 alignments. My second set of tires were stripped to the belts after only 9000 miles. The first set lasted 18k before scalloping.

2 Front Suspension problem

Front tires are being replaced within 10,000 with steel belts showing once this mileage is reached. The owner is being told by the dealership "that it is her driving". The tires are rotated every 5,000 miles with alignment. The cause of the failure has not been determined by the dealership. Please describe details. Mr.
