Ignition Module problems of the 1999 Cadillac Catera

Three problems related to ignition module have been reported for the 1999 Cadillac Catera. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Ignition Module problem

Failure Date: 08/29/2000

Engine stalls causing loss of power steering and brakes resulting in loss of control.

2 Ignition Module problem

Failure Date: 12/18/1999

While driving vehicle stalled unexpectedly which may have caused a crash. Dealer said that will reprogram computer in about a month. The vehicle had stall numerous time. Currently they are re-programming the computer (ecu unit) and claim this will be the answer to the problem.

3 Ignition Module problem

Failure Date: 09/21/1999

The day after the car was purchased, the consumer noticed the check engine light on, the light came on several times and the dealer stated that the main computer and some sensors went out, the bad main computer was also causing vehicle vibration.
