The abs and traction control system failed on my 1997 Cadillac Catera in kingsport, TN during a snowstorm. This resulted in a loss of control of the vehicle and un-drivability of the car during inclement weather. Dealer attempts to correct with replacement of computer module and valve/pump have not solved the problem.

2 Automatic Transmission Control Module problem of the 1999 Cadillac Catera

I contacted the bbb auto line and someone from gm(ms cass brass) call me offered me an extended warranty> then ask me if I was taking that as a settlement advise her no. I want my car repaired r replaced. She advise me 2 drive d car 2 c if happen again. I explain 2 her I'm really scared 2 drive my car . I'm scared that it may stop on me and someone hit me & I cause a accident> I explain the same thing 2 d dealer when I took it each time it cut off. On my 1st notes I explain that my car just cut off while driving it on 5-20-00 I was driving 50 mph when my dashboard lit up and it just cut off it did it 3 times within a 30 minute period. The 1st time it cut off was 3-7-00 5896 miles on car, next time 4-28-00 , then 3 times on 5-20-00 the dealer sd they replace pcm/vmc also said pcm reprogrammed, myt car drove fine until 12-20-00 when it cut off again while driving then on 12-30-00 it stall got real sluggish like it was going 2 stop but didn't.

3 Automatic Transmission Control Module problem of the 1997 Cadillac Catera

Abs system and traction control systems fail numerous times. Always when applying the brakes at any speed on any surface. Failure also occurs when vehicle is not moving (when depressing the brake to shift from park). The dealer has not solved the problem permanently, simply fixing it for a few weeks at a time. The abs and traction control always fail at precisely the same time.
