The contact owns a 2005 Cadillac Cts. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the brake warning light would appear on the instrument panel as an abnormal, hissing sound would emit from the brake pedal upon depression. The vehicle was initially taken to an independent mechanic where brake fluid was replenished once it was discovered to be empty. Despite the repair, the failure persisted. After the contact's third visit to the mechanic, the mechanic discovered severe corrosion along the vehicle's brake line which resulted in a brake fluid leak. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA campaign number: 15v225000(service brakes, hydraulics) which the mechanic linked to the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was not included in the recall. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 158,000.
During normal driving, my service stibilatrak light comes on. While the message is on, the tcs kicks in and it grabs the wheel and stops the car. I've been reared ended once and two barely missed collisions. When the tcs activates, it stops the car completely and the only way to drive the car is to turn it off for a few second and then restart it. That resets the computer and turn the message light off. The tcs or abs does not come on in the dash, just the stilibatrak message in the message center. Once it's turned off, it does not come on until the next time the tcs activates. I've had several diagnostic tests to check the problem or get a code but there is no code. I've been told that the car is clear of codes. The dealer cannot find a code or the problem. I've spent several hundred dollars on trying to locate the problem. The car, as is, is a death trap. I can't drive it because I don't know when the traction will kick on. I've taken good care of my car, nice bodywork and low milage but it's not safe to drive and no one knows how to fix it, including the dealer. At $200 an hour to try to find the problem is unforeseeable financially on my pension. One option is to junk the car for $200. I can't donate or sale it because it will not pass MD inspection. I can't trade it; I can't afford another car note. I've had this issue for almost a year. This happens every time I drive it, so I had to buy another car which I was not ready to buy. No major damage to report.
My wife has been complainting about the brakes don't stop the car sometimes. I drove it today and made a sharp right to enter in a parking spot and the car would not stop when applying the brakes. That scared the what ever out of me.
Not drivable.
I have only had my Cts for a month but when braking on about three different occasions the brake pedal will push back against my foot. These have occurred twice in my driveway stopping to back into my garage and once coming to a stop light.
When ever I make a slight turn at low speeds,ie. 10 mph or less the abs actuates and the car is unable to stop. This is very prevalent when pulling into a parking spot. I have had firestone auto, parker cadilac, and american tire and auto in my hometown look at this issue and all told me that they could not pull codes. I have been told that if any indicator dash warning light come on then it will trip a code, but this issue does not. This is an ongoing issue with this car. .
I was driving into a drugstore parking lot and as I applied the brakes the car sped up instead of stopping, the more I applied the brakes the faster the car went. . . It appears that the speed went from about 10 mph to about 40 mph and as a result of this, my car sped up and went across a busy intersection and into another drugstore parking lot. Had it not been for the pillars in from of the second drugstore, we probably would be dead. The car simply would not stop! it eventually stopped after hitting the pillars at the second drugstore. It was god who blessed up and kept us here on this earth. . My car was totaled. Now I am without a vehicle. This car was a runaway car at the time that the accident occurred.
Service brake assist message on screen and abs/ trac control lights. Brakes were checked with no issues found. Also anti-locks will active on dry road for a second or two.
Tl-the contact owns a 2005 Cadillac Cts. The contact stated that while pulling into the driveway, the brake pedal was depressed but the vehicle failed to respond causing the contact to crash into the garage. Also, the contact stated that the brake pedal depressed to the ground and the service brake assist warning light illuminated. The air bags failed to deploy. The dealer was unable to diagnose the failure but was able to reset the abs system. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 87,000. Pam.
Starting to back out of driveway and when applying brakes they are stiff and barely working and really hard to stop car.
The emergency brake does not work. I press it all the way to the floor and the vehicle will roll still. It seems there is no emergency brake at all.
Vehicle shutters/hesitates (like the brakes are engaging) and then jerks violently to the right into next lane. "service stability sys" message comes on and then goes off. Cadillac dealer keeps "fixing" it and charging. Problem returns again within days sometimes hours. Internet is loaded with folks with exact same problem and Cadillac says there are no recalls and they can't diagnose the problem unless they can duplicate the issue while a tech is driving it. I am afraid to drive the car. Another driver almost drove up on the curb when he had to pull away from my car moving unexpectently into his lane. All of this information has been shared with the dealer repair department.
While pulling into a parking spot with the wheels turned sharply, the braking became rough and the car would not stop without significant pressure on the brake pedal. This was the 5th time this has happened. Each time it occurs at low speed when the wheel is turned sharply. Brake indicator lights do not go on. I have come very close to hitting other cars when this occurs. My repair man has not been able to identify a problem.
Tl-the contact owns a 2005 Cadillac Cts. The contact stated that additional force must be used to apply the breaks, and a humming noise can be heard, coming from the tire area. The contact stated that this occurs regularly. The vehicle has been brought in for repair, but it was diagnosed that the brakes were functioning properly. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The failure mileage was 60,000. Aa.
Cadillac 2005 Cts / when in a sharp turn will not stop slides into what ever will stop the car- seems like front brakes become disconnected, its going to kill me soon if I can't stop making a turn.
The brakes will slip when applied. It seems it only happens when going a low rate of speed. In November of this year I had recall on bakes fixed. I thought that had fixed problem. Unfortunately the brakes started slipping again yesterday (Dec. 29, 2010). I have had brakes checked several times in the past, no one can seem to find a problem. This is our family car and I am beginning to fear for my family when driving this car. I have found multiple complaints the same as mine, please help us solve this problem. Don't let this end up like the "Toyota" situation.
The contact owns a 2005 Cadillac Cts. While driving at speeds of 20 mph on wet road conditions, the brakes would not engage when depressed. The vehicle proceeded to crash into a vehicle ahead of him. One injury was reported at the scene and a police report was filed accordingly. The vehicle was towed to a local repair facility where the contact was awaiting an assessment of the damages. The failure and current mileages were 70,000.
