2 problems. First, for the recall for the keychain, can the dealership not just mail me and give me the keychain upon arrival? most dealerships seem to insist that they have to check the vehicle out, which means I would have to leave it or wait. Second, someone rear ended me, totaling the vehicle (los - perhaps as much as $13,000, as I did not have collision insurance. I believe that I might have avoided the accident, but he came out of a right rear blind spot. I often had trouble seeing people back there, and I believe the large right rear blind spot is a design defect. I would like to know if others have complained about the same thing. The vehicle was in motion, just coming off a freeway, ending and changing to a surface street, very busy road, very busy time of day. I was exiting the freeway, the other car cut in and was going straight. Thank you!.
First, please know the car is a 2011 in mint condition. . . Still smells new. I only have 19,500 miles on it and it has never been in an accident. It spends most of its life as a garage queen as it is my dream car and stays protected. Trunk gets saturated every time water (rain, hose, etc) gets on it whether driving or sitting still. I pulled the fabric panels out of the trunk and found water leaking in at the 3rd brake light (6 bolts and 3 alignment pins) and the driver's side brake lamp (3 screws, 1 wiring harness, and a body plug). That's 14 penetrations that were leaking. Gm asked that I pay the local dealership to diagnose (which I had already done but I obliged anyway) and to send them the report and invoice. I did this and included pictures of the water leaks. Dealership wants $1,380. 08 to correct this by replacing 3rd brake light, adding grommet kit, and replacing driver's side brake lamp. Gm only offered a $100 voucher to assist in the repair but will not fix the issue. It is an obvious design flaw.
"Cadillac recall" the brakes did not function properly on the vehicle. The brake light came on and at times the car did not immediately stop when brakes were pressed. As a result, I could no longer drive the vehicle and had to find other means of transportation. In addition, recalls and issue with this car have made the news.
Both rear taillights are separating from the body at the top. There is a gap of approx. 1/4-3/8 inch from the top peak of taillight to body. This is on a 2011 Cadillac Cts awd luxury wagon.
Purchased car (coupe) new with appx. 2k miles (had been used at golf tournament). A week after I purchased, the driver’s side door did not open and I was not aware of emergency lever. I called onstar and they were able to unlock it. In the 3 ½ years that I owed it, the car locked me in numerous times. Two different dealers could not find anything wrong with one dealer keeping the car for almost a week trying to figure it out and I was told there were no service alerts. There was also an incident where I was about 10 feet from the car and the interior and exterior lights started flashing for no reason and again the dealers could not explain it. I have since sold the car because I did not want to be dependent on onstar or an emergency lever.
