Wheel problem #1

I was driving and it started rattling and getting very bumpy. I exited the freeway and came to a stop. The vehicle would no longer move. I had it towed to my mechanic. The right front axle broke. He replaced it and drove it around the block for a test drive. It was very loud and turning tight when the left axle broke. It has been diagnosed with a bad differential. Everyone I have spoke with at multiple Cadillac dealerships, including someone at a dealership over 30 years, have said they never seen this type of problem and especially on such a newer vehicle with only 84,000 miles. It was a very dangerous situation and if it never happens why did it happen to mine? I’m thinking something is faulty in the differential etc.

Wheel problem #2

Our mechanic told us that the differential is making a grinding sound and he add differential fluid, but said the problem would only get worse. The car only has 62k miles on it and it is very expensive to have the differential replace/repaired. I feel that this is a defect of the car and should be recalled by Cadillac to have the differential replaced. For the differential to go bad at 60k miles is unacceptable and is terrible reliability.

Wheel problem #3

My car is a 2014 Cts vsport. I have owned the vehicle since August of 2017, and it had 42,563 miles when I purchased the vehicle. I have had tire issues with the car since day 1. The 1st week I owned the vehicle, the tires had to be replaced, although they had just been replaced prior to my purchase, the car was making very loud noise while driving and it was determined they had uneven wear. along with this, the rear axle system off light would occasionally come on. Nothing the dealer could find with it and it always seemed the light would turn off when it was at dealership. Now 2 additional sets of tires, and the rear axle system off light not turning off, I was told rear axle pieces need to be replaced to include the rear axle pins and pump, costing 2700. 00. Along with this repair the car will need to have tires realigned due to uneven wear and rear brakes. The dealer stated they cannot replace the rear axle under the recall because the recall is incomplete with no solution. in addition, they told me my car is unsafe to drive due to risk of the rear tires locking up while driving the vehicle.

Wheel problem #4

The contact owns a 2014 Cadillac Cts equipped with pirelli zero run flat tires (na), size: 235/55zr17 (na). The contact stated that the front tire experienced blisters on the sidewall. The contact stated that the failures occurred after hitting potholes at various speeds. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was confirmed that the tire was defective and needed to be replaced. The failure occurred approximately eight times. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The dot number and VIN were unknown. The vehicle failure mileage was approximately 43,000. The tire failure mileage was 5,000. (jcc add sidewall).

Wheel problem #5

In the past 2 1/2 years I have 7 tires replaced. The side-wall of the tires split and I believe this has to do with the defective wheels. These are 18 inch wheels and I believe they are poorly designed resulting in the tire splitting. I have never experienced this sort of reoccurring problem in any other vehicle.

Wheel problem #6

4 tires have split the side wall due to impact on the road in the last year, pirelli pzero run flat p245018, tires seem defective with side wall splits after minor impacts.

Wheel problem #7

2014 Cadillac Cts. Consumer writes in regards to four flat tires due to low profile wheels. The consumer believed in order to eliminate the problem, Cadillac needs to replace the 19 inch wheels and tires with 18 inch wheels and tires that came equipped on the vehicle. The consumer stated she was never informed the 19 inch wheels and tires would be so easily damaged, just by driving on the highway.
