The traction control turned off when I was driving at about 45mph. I have loss of motive power and traction control will not turn back on. I know there was a recall for this same years powertrain seal going bad and think that this is a defective model that wasnt recalled. Please let me know what can be done about this serious issue???.

Driving to work went to stop and vehicle pull to the side and would not stop normal. I drove the vehicle to the dealer and the reported right rear hub not sensing speed signal and needed to replace and not covered under my warranty. I see gm and Cadillac has had a lot of problems with this wheel hud and have recalled on other model years. These are $600. 00 per wheel to replace and think that they should last longer than 39,000 miles. Would not want to have been driving at highway speeds when this fails. I contacted Cadillac and they would not repair without charge.

I was driving in a parking garage so my speed was about 5-10mph when the whole system shut down. The car stopped moving and all of the system warnings popped off (abs, stabiltrack, engine). The car would not turn back on. I had it towed to the shop where I was told that it was an electrical problem. The pcm was replaced and I was told that the problem was fixed. Cost was approx $200. After the original system shut down, I was driving on an exit ramp to the interstate when once again the whole system shut down. All of the system warnings popped up and the car would not turn back on. The car was towed once again to the dealership where I was told that it wasn't the pcm and that they would have to charge me $265. 00 to investigate the problem. The problem was said to be the electrical wiring on the drivers side from the front of the car to the back of the car. It was fixed for approx $800. 00. Each of the system shut downs happened within 6 months of each other while operating the vehicle. This is very dangerous and makes me feel very unsafe about operating the vehicle. This needs to be investigated for the safety of drivers.

Was entering the on ramp on to a freeway and just tapped the brake and noticed and heard the left front tire grind and the steering wheel pulled to the left real hard. I was going into a blind under pass and thought that if it seized up around the blind corner I would surely be in an accident. I first thought that a stone chip was in between the brake and rotor. The car was towed away to a aaa location about 3 miles away. The service station then took it out around the block and was not able to duplicate. The put the car up and the lift and could not see anything that was wrong. Then I took them out around the block real slow and the left front brakes would grind away. They tested it and could not find anything wrong no error codes. They I said could drive the car home from san diego to south orange county not didn't make it a block away before it locked up the left front tire. Was able to limp to marvin k. Brown auto center about a mile away and it was there for two weeks and $500. 00 for a steering sensor replaced. Then it continued to happen and the Cts was taken to tustin Cadillac and they tried to correct the problems after spending 2 days at the dealer and $1700. 00 later the car continues to have not only the left front but now it is the right front. The brakes continue to activate on both the left and right front at anytime at any speed. This last time it felt like the left rear activated, the car got out of control every one around me backed off. I have been driving the car through the locking of left or right front tires and it does say ding and read " check stability system" this car it no longer save to be driven and I was told the last part to fix it is "obsolete" the only thing that might work is to disable the "stability system" by unplugging the fuses on in the trunk on up front.

While driving car jumps out of gear causing rapid deceleration, loss of traction control, stability control, power steering, and brakes. When this happens the instrument cluster looses any indication of gear selection, and car must be shut off and restarted several times to regain controls once parked. Gm/Cadillac is aware of the issue since they have a TSB relating to the fault code, but no recall, even though this is a severe safety concern. It has happened several times at multiple speeds highest of which was about 45-50 so far. Have had into shop 4 times. They have replaced a detent, which did not fix the problem, and internal mode switch twice within approx. 2-3 weeks apart neither time has fixed the issue. Now they are wanting to replace the transmission control module, which I have not had done yet since I am not confident in their ability to correct the issue and the cost is well over a $1000. Currently looking into legal recourse, since I have a vehicle that is pretty much a lemon and not safe to drive my children in. Cadillac has refused to grant a goodwill repair even though the issue was addressed 3 times under the cpo warranty. I have been looking online and have seen several recalls for similar issues but different model years. Not sure how rapid deceleration, loss of power steering and braking does not qualify as a recall necessity.

My car while driving on the highway has turned off out of nowhere while driving 60 mph while the car is still moving I put the car in neutral turn the ignition off n then back and the car turns right back on but some days this happens more then others. This problem has been going on for several months I have been in and out of the dealership. And they still to this day can't tell me what is the problem . But I have done research and there a lot of these incidents going on with GMC vehicles idk why they say they can't find problem or fix it . They just want me driving on the highway with my family when the car stalls out . This problem isn't everyday it seems to happen 3-5 times a month. I I don't remember the exact dates but this problem has been going on since I got the car. If the dealer can't tell me what's wrong what am I suppose tod.

I was driving a 2014 Cadillac Cts on 04/27/14, in fremont, CA. Vehicle configuration: 2014 Cts 3. 6l rwd performance. VIN, to the best of my knowledge: 1g6as5s39e0155563 the incident occurred at approximately 11am. The planned travel route was as follows: fremont Cadillac, 5939 automall pkwy, fremont, CA ||| NW on boyce road ||| n on stevenson blvd ||| interstate-880s ||| exit automall pkwy ||| fremont Cadillac. I traveled north on stevenson blvd and then headed for the onramp for interstate 880-south. When I approached the freeway onramp I noticed, all of a sudden, a delay between pedal application and power. I demonstrated this to my passenger twice over, by gently letting off the gas and applying it again. . . At which point the vehicle's check engine light came on, accompanied with a loss of traction control and stability control, reduced engine power, and shuddering during gear shifts. The vehicle was traveling approximately 40mph at the time. Aside from the aforementioned issues, no other problems with the vehicle were observed. I only traveled two miles before experiencing these issues. As this was a brand new car on a test drive, it obviously had very few miles on the odometer. Upon returning to the car dealership, the sales associates pulled the car back onto the sales lot, moved other new cars out of the way, and parked the car amongst other new vehicles for sale. The vehicle was most certainly not pulled into the service drive. Needless to say, this is unsettling news. I have no faith that the vehicle was properly inspected, nor do I have faith that the dealership will responsibly handle this matter. It is my recommendation that gm withdraws this vehicle from dealer inventory and performs an independent assessment of the vehicle.

My daughter was driving her dad's 2003 Cadillac Cts on 1st March 2014 when she was involved in an accident. A vehicle tried to move over into her lane and when she tried to avoid the car she skidded and spun 360 degree and came to a full stop in a "t" position on the highway in atlanta. After it stopped, the car was completely shut off and could not get started. Thereafter another car broadsided the car and knock it to the curb moving the vehicle form the "t" position. Her dad contacted marietta Cadillac dealer a few days later and informed them of the shut-off and asked if there were any recalls. The dealer said they would check and call back. There was no further response from the marietta, Cadillac dealer. In August of 2014 I called general motor (gm) and informed them about the accident, the representative said it sounded as though the cause of the accident could be the ignition slip-of-the-key to another position causing the car to shut off. A carol from gm called me and went over my complaint, she later scheduled an appointment and said they would check the car then they would let us know if it has anything to do with the ignition. Carol told me to leave the Cts at the Cadillac dealer in marietta where an independent person would check it. I also told carol about a shut-off incident that occurred 11/2014 where suddenly shut off when my husband mistakenly hit the curb while turning onto the driveway. The car shut off on a busy throughway. On Tuesday September 16, 2014, carol called and said that gm is not liable because they checked the car and they are not liable, she told me to return the car to enterprise the following day September 17, 2014 which was done. On September 18, 2014 my husband received the first recall notice to take the car to the Cadillac dealer to have the ignition.
Indicator light came and had a notification that a loss of power would happen. Just barely limped home.
When driving it would engage to stability mode and also service satbility. . However the car would get out of control and it would be as if you put you brakes on when you were in water. . . But no water and I hadn t put the brake until I had to. . Because it went out of control for a quick (but more frequent) time. . . I took it in finally and asked if there were any recalls becausewhen I purchased it in 2003 new. I had to have the shaft bolt fixed . . . Then I had to have the air bag serviced and they charged me for that another time. Then my seat motor went out. Etc. All within the 1st 5 years with low mileage too. So I've bee waiting to fix this since I am a widow and don't who to trust anymore. . . I was told this time it is leaking in the differential and thats why it runs rough and jolts when I put in gear. . . And the thermostat and 2 caps in front leaking . . . Who knows. . But tomorrow they will call me with the amount it is going to cost. . . Aporx. 13 hours of work. . . .
The contact owns a 2003 Cadillac Cts. The contact stated that the stabilization warning light illuminated and the vehicle started shaking abnormally. The vehicle was taken to a dealer. The technician was unable to find a failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 140,000 and the current mileage was 166,000.
Had my cruise control set at 70 mph for highway driving when I heard a psshhh sound and cruise control broke violently and smelled burnt rubber with smoke coming from back end of car. Pulled over immediately and car smoke from back end and smell only increased. Thought for sure I had a tire blowout. Walked around car and nothing wrong with tires. Had car towed to an auto repair place and am told that the rear differential went out. I have since investigated and found many, many forums about this issue. There are no recalls for this particular model but a certain recall for 2005 models. This situation could have been deadly and I feel both fortunate and upset with gm that such a problem has been so commonly noted but with no "real" resolve. The auto repair place has called around and this is a special part that is not available in my state and a new one costs an estimated $1,200. With so many issues with models 2004-2006 how come there is no recall for 2004 and only a lesser degree of a recall for 2005?.

I have a 2010 Cts Cadillac; I was involved in an accident on 9/3/2013 in which I was t-bone by some running a red light my airbags didnot deployed, I have injuries from that accident that I am still dealing with. I was stopped at stop light in a 2 way left turn I was on the outside the blind side. When the light turn green a slow pulled out and made a wide turn to give the truck on my inside plenty of room the next thing I remember I was spinning in the road, over $7000 in damage to my car, I have serve nerve damage to my left hand, elbow and a torn rotator cup. This accident happen at the intersection of hwy 17 & hwy 24/258 jacksonville, nc coming home from my grand daughter 3rd birthday party.
Vehicle shutters/hesitates (like the brakes are engaging) and then jerks violently to the right into next lane. "service stability sys" message comes on and then goes off. Cadillac dealer keeps "fixing" it and charging. Problem returns again within days sometimes hours. Internet is loaded with folks with exact same problem and Cadillac says there are no recalls and they can't diagnose the problem unless they can duplicate the issue while a tech is driving it. I am afraid to drive the car. Another driver almost drove up on the curb when he had to pull away from my car moving unexpectently into his lane. All of this information has been shared with the dealer repair department.
My car stalled twice, while driving. It has happened six more time over the past 2 years, latest at 82499 miles. In all instances, the car stalls and the service stability system appears. After the car sits for a minute or so it'll start back up and drives normal. I've had it into several service stations and no one can diagnose or recreate the problem. I'm concerned it's a safety issues as it has happened on the freeway, which could potentially lead to a serious accident. I've seen several posts on the internet of other Cadillac owners experiencing this same issue, however gm will not acknowledge it.
While driving home from work, approximately 35 miles into a 40-mile trip, my traction control warning light turned on. The driver information center (dic) indicated "service traction control, engine power reduced. " the vehicle's power was then reduced, and I was unable to maintain my speed (approximately 52 mph), and my car slowed down due to a lack of power, and I was only able to achieve 40 mph. I pulled into a parking lot, turned the car off for about five minutes. I then restarted the car. The same warning light turned on and the dic showed the same information: "service traction control, engine power reduced. " while I was attempting to complete my trip home, the warning light cleared, and the power in the car returned to normal. On 12/22/12 in the morning, I brought my car to my local dealership for normal maintenance and to have the above problem investigated. Nothing came of the investigation. On 12/26/12, again on my way home from work, about 39 miles into a 40-mile trip, the traction control warning light turned on, and the dic displayed the same information as before: "service traction control, engine power reduced. " I immediately drove to the dealership. I ended up leaving the car there for two days and picked the car up on 12/28/12 evening. No problems were found. Later that evening, the same event occurred, this time about 52 miles into a 55-mile trip. This same event has occurred once more last evening (12/31/12), again on the way home from work. The message cleared once I parked the car and waited a least a few minutes to allow the computer to reset(?) the same event has occurred four times since 12/21/12, and my concern is that at some point the power might be reduced at a critical time during one of my trips. I searched you database, and unfortunately, there are no other reports of a similar nature.
While driving at varying speeds (typically over 30 mph) the "stability system engaged" message comes on and the car violently pulls to the left with a weird noise. This is really scary while driving down the interstate at high speeds. No recall exists and this has taken place for two years. I have since learned how to turn off the traction control and this problem by holding down the traction control button on the inside of the glove compartment. This is no real solution to the problem since it has to be done every time I drive the car.
Multiple, arbitrary incidences of the brakes shaking, kind of grinding and car not wanting to stop, generally when pulling into or out of a parking spot, or coming to any slow stop. Always at a low speed. . Read more...
Driving down road it just cut off other times it just would not start I have had it 3yrs and only got to drive it 2 mths I really wanted this car but never knew what was going to happen!also some kind of seal we had fixed blew maybe a week after it was fixed.
In November 2011 I could not take the key from the ignition of my car. Then in 2012 the same problem occurred on about the same month, costing me a little under $900. 00 both times. The problem mention was stated internal failure of engine control module. The module computer chip, went out both times. Now I am having problems with the car shaking after refueling and the check engine light is on. I understand that there was a recall of this model car in 2010. I brought this n 2011 from Ford of rock hill in south carolina. There were no mention of any recalls.
I purchased this vehicle in November 2011 with approx. 97,000 miles showing on the odometer. During a thanksgiving holiday trip of some 1600 miles, consisting mostly of highway driving with the cruise control engaged, and for no apparent reason, the asc (automatic stability control) would disengage the cruise control, "tug" the vehicle to the left or right slightly, seemed to have a slight braking effect (although it may have been the sudden deceleration that caused the sense of braking) and would display " stability control engaged". This occurred numerous times. Also, on this same trip, the "traction control" would engage, without warning or need, and disengage the cruise control causing sudden, unexpected, deceleration. This too happened numerous times. Although I did notice that the "traction control" seemed to engage when in a curve on rough or bumpy roads. I concluded that this was the result of a sudden "wheel hop" or "spin" as a result of losing traction from the "bounce" when hitting a bump or rough spot. I've run the "onboard diagnostic system" several times and no codes pertaining to these events are displayed.
I was number 6 of persons to have a severe rollover wreck in the same spot. In a curve, my right front tire caught t the lip of a 3 foot deep concrete culvert in a driveway. It was 9 inches from the road edge. It flipped over front to on roof. I was trapped in car. My front airbag partially opened but not enough to keep my face and chest area from hitting and breaking the steering wheel. No other of 7 airbags deployed at all. Every window, including sunroof was totally broken out. Both front seats were crushed into the floor and too hot to touch. . Since it occurred in the country, I was saved by the neighbors calling for help. Onstar failed to notify anyone and the fire/emt man said car was 5 minutes away from going up in flames. My implants were both ruptured by hitting steering wheel and face cut up and bruised by glass and lack of full employment by driver airbag. I have photos showing car and airbag. The airbag was pristine clean with 2 large torn holes. No smoke or dust off any type. I still haven't driven in 21/2 years. Please give me your opinion. Thank you.
While driving at a steady and even speed my car would suddenly pulled to the left as if the left front wheel had the break apply. Almost instantly my "stability system engaged" display would go on and the car would correct itself. This went on to become a regular event with each time I took the car out. The most it occurred was 30 or so times in a 90 mile trip, but it happened regularly on local 2 mile trips to the store. Sometimes it would be more severe than others . In addition and occasionally, when the breaks were applied, there would be a "loudish" crunch sound and resistance to foot pressure that would give way after the initial break application. There was also a vibration "buzz" through the gas pedal when this all would occur. The first time I took the car to the dealer they could not find anything wrong or duplicate the problem. I took them information I had found on the web about the problem and they checked their service bulletins for a problem. It was fixed by changing a steering sensor at a cost of $430.
While traveling at a slow speed on a wet road, the driver had difficulty shifting gears. The vehicle began to shake violently and lunged hard to the right (the driver was unable to correct or control). For unknown reasons, the vehicle then accelerated to a high speed and crashed into two trees. The accident might have been initiated by a malfunctioning electronic stability control (esc) system, causing unexpected braking action and pulling to the right. Other malfunctioning electronic sensors and/or associated vehicle control modules, known transmission problems (harsh or unexpected transmission shifts: TSB 02-07-30-013e), or suspension components problems (rear axel or wheel hop: TSB 05-04-114-001a) could have been contributing factors.
Received a recall notice from general motors back in September 2014,recall # 14172 for the ignition switch safety problem. To date I have read their have been 43 related deaths. . I called my local Cadillac dealership on 10/6/2014 at 2001 n collins st,arlington,TX,phone 877-584-7149. They took all my info and recall nbr and said as soon as the parts come in they will call me and to schedule the appointment. Well it is now December 16,2014 and I am still waiting????????? I can see how serious gm is about this recall roger h lorenz.
