While driving my 2008 Cts, with no advance notice, the engine just died. It seemed to run out of gas. My fuel gauge read between 1/2 to 3/4 full. This happened 3 different occasions. All 3 times I had to have it towed back to the dealership that I purchased the car from. All 3 times I got different reasons it happened, from bad fuel pump in gas tank, to some type of bad connection, etc. After this happened the 3rd time, I demanded a new car, which I received. I have had no problems with this Cts, runs great.

Fuel tank showing full tank of gas. Driving normally, car suddenly dies, no power to steering or gas pedal. Pulled over to side of road, called onstar, police and tow truck summoned to scene. Tow truck towed me to nearest Cadillac dealership, car left over the weekend. Monday morning dealer calls to say fuel pump is defective, and that tank was bone dry, even though gauge was reporting 100% full. . . This all a result of the fuel pump problem. Car only has 6,200 kilometers (about 3,500 miles). Fuel pump was replaced, however fuel range still reporting ridiculous values, jumps all over the place, gauge still not accurate, am afraid of losing power and that the gas will run out without my knowing it.
