Unknown Or Other Problems of Cadillac CTS

I have had numerous problems with my 2004 Cadillac Cts. The most recent is with my rear differential. The latest problem with the differential prompted an online search with the results showing that each of the problems I have had with my Cadillac Cts is one that has happened with 1000's of other 2004 Cts model Cadillacs.

While entering a parking place, my brakes failed to engage. The abs system warning appeared and also the traction control warning illuminated, as I struck a restraining post. This could have been tragic if a person had been infront of the vehicle. Less than 2 weeks prior to this I had a complete brake service and replacement of all worn equipment. Now I am conscerned for anyone driving this vehicle or anyone walking in front of this vehicle. I took the car back into my local garage to have the brakes rechecked. They found no problem. My plan was to take the car to the gm dealership where I purchased the car, yet, I find that this is a common problem and gm refused to help others with the same problem. They, others with the same problem, spent lots of money and to no avail. The problem has not been repaired at the dealerships and have left the customers very dissatisfied.

When driving vehicle at low speeds into and up a right hand driveway there is a loud creaking sound coming from the rear of the sunroof. It does not creak going up a left hand driveway. The creaking is predominately at the rear and to the right of the sunroof. At normal driving speeds the creaking is heard over moderate to large bumps. The creaking has been going on since day 1 when I bought the car brand new.

While in the process of making a slow speed <10 mph right hand turn the steering wheel locked up. The vehicle engine did not stall nor lose electrical power and no icons appeared on dash display to indicate a problem. The steering wheel unlocked when brakes were slammed on to prevent crashing into building. After this car was operable and able to be driven to parking area without incident. When key was removed from ignition it was bent,apparently from steering wheel trying to go to locked position. Vehicle was driven to dealer a distance of approximately ten miles without repeat of problem. Dealer kept vehicle approximately one week trying to replicate problem driving it approximately 100 miles without incident. Dealer replaced ignition switch but admitted that they could not say the switch was cause of the problem. Refused to accept vehicle feeling if problem reoccurred again at higher speed danger possibly existed to any occupants of this or any vehicles near it. Dealer then agreed to buy back vehicle. Dealer was very accommodating but agreed that manufacturer did not appear supportive or concerned.

The service air bag light came on and has deactivated the passenger side air bag. The problem is being caused by the passenger seat sensor. This is the same issue that is already on the recall for 2005-2007 Cadillac Cts, but according to the Cadillac dealer, the recall does not involve my VIN. I suggest that the nhsta review the recall and add all 2005 - 2007 Cadillac Cts vehicles that display the air bag error be included on the recall.

The trunk will not stay up. It continuously slam down. It has fallen on both my husband an my head and shoulders. It has become very dangerous and general motors will not correct it, says car too old. All owners be careful!!.

After driving for a short time at slow speed, car will shut off going up a hill. Car starts right back up and run for a while but shuts off again while sitting still. At sometime, after this initial event engine light is on, but intermittently. Car driven to dealership. Ckp and cmp sensors found defective.

The contact owns a 2009 Cadillac Cts. The contact observed that the vehicle was not equipped with a safety assist gripping handles on the front passenger and driver side area. The manufacturer was notified and were unable to provide assistance. The contact had concern of the safety risk involved. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000. Bought car in 4-2009. First throttle went out within 20 days, replaced by dealer. Dealer went bankrupt within a month. Second throttle replaced 8-2010, third 2-2011, and fourth throttle went out yesterday (4-4-2011. ) one gm dealer refused to make repair, calling car a "problem child. " (I. E. Lemon) another said they did not want to, but would replace throttle, but would not handle the warranty. I have called gm at least five times, talking for hours, and they refuse to think this is their problem. I have repeatedly brought up the dangerous situation a throttle going out creates when the car looses power in the middle of a busy street. They just don't care. Gm does have a service bulletin out on throttle problems. I have put @ 5,000 miles on the car since purchase in 2009.

2007 Cadillac Cts: brakes fail when making turn at slow speeds, such as into driveway, parking spot etc, and car continues to move forward in a slide. . Dealer claims there are no brake problems and that they can't replicate problem. After speaking with several other owners who have the same problem, I "googled" the issue and found numerous complaints regarding the same situation and all indicatingt he dealerships were either unaware, unwilling or unable to resolve the problem.

Trunk lid kept on falling with no control hitting my spouse's head. Trunk struts found to be defective. When got them from dealership, it was found that hinges did not match. New hinges were redesigned to correct the issue.

I wish to complain about a tv ad that Cadillac is currently running for their Cts model, it depicts the car driving blindly at high speed through thick fog. I believe the ad is criminally irresponsible, given the high cost in lives, injuries and property damage that occurs every year when vehicles driven at high speed in fog collide with other vehicles. I have requested Cadillac to immedately withdraw this ad and in the future make some minimal effort to appeal to responsible driving behavior. What action can I expect your agency to take? joseph a. Consumer states that while driving at any speed and no warning the floorboard stays wet and this is a distraction to the consumer. Dealer notified ts.

Navigation system on 2003 Cadillac Cts not functioning properly. Some major cities can not be located, can't set some destinations, mileage from location to destination is incorrect plus other problems.
