Tl - the contact owns a 2006 Cadillac Dts. The contact stated that a burning odor was emitted into the vehicle and the power steering failed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technician diagnosed that the high pressure power steering hose was leaking and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but did not offer any assistance since the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign id number: 06v105000 (steering:hydraulic power assist:hose, piping, and connections). The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was unknown. Kmj.
Power steering hose connection failed, gm refused to fix recall (NHTSA campaign id number 06v105000), they said that my "VIN" was not apart of the recall, only on units built from Dec 06 through Feb 06, my car was build in Mar 06. . . . Dealer said that this is the faulty part. . . Paid 519. 49 for the fix and 110. 00for a tow. . . Were afraid to drive might start engine fire. . . . Gm should recall all of these cars with faulty hoses.
