The front heated/cooled seats were working intermittently, while driving, since January 2017. Two weeks ago they stopped altogether. Upon investigation I had to remove the passenger seat in order to inspect the control module. I found two wires burned and the large plug stuck in the control module pin area. I'm waiting on some parts before I can proceed with the possible repair. There should be an immediate recall to have gm repair this problem at no cost to the consumer. It is definitely a fire hazard. The number on the control module is 100-1325-f. There may be another specific number but I have been unable to find on the internet.
Heated seat connector melted.
The plug that connects to the heat/cool module has now melted on the yellow/red wire which is about a 10ga wire. I have read many forums and online articles about gm having this problem on many other gm vehicles. This is a huge problem which can result in a fire since the wire gets hot it can possibly ignite the padding underneath the seat. I should not have to fix this myself it should be repaired by the dealer. I currently have about 47k miles on my Cadillac and the heat and cool seats no longer work unless I make the repairs.
The heated/cooled seats stopped working. Later they started working again. This cycle of working/not working continued for a few months then they quit completely. After searching online for solutions, I found that the Dts, Buick lucerne, and a few other gm vehicles have this same problem. The wiring connector under the passenger seat overheats and melts causing a poor connection resulting in the heat/cool settings to malfunction and not work. This is a fire hazard! gm is charging people around $1000 to diagnose and repair the problem when it's their own faulty engineering. There should be a safety recall on all the vehicles with this particular type of climate controlled heated/cooled seats and should be no charge for the repair. If I could send pictures I would let you see the melted and burned wiring connector in my car.
