1 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 01/11/2023

Was backing out of my parking space and the warning icons on my dash,(service brake system, stabiltrack, traction control. 4 years ago I had to replace a (yaw) that goes under the driver's seat because moonroof is leaking so I sealed the roof. The yaw controls the stabiltrack. I took it to a auto parts store to get diagnosed and it says speed sensor or possibly a wheel hub. Ive owned cars for 50 some years and never had this problem. The car only has 110,000 miles. Iam tired of problems related to this issue as I said first was yaw ,now hub for car. There must be other owners that have had this problem. This is supposed to be a luxury automobile and miles aren't high.

2 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 10/24/2022

Vehicle's brakes stopped working. Could push the brake pedal to the floor without almost no effect. I removed the driver's side front wheel and discovered the brake line was almost completely severed and fluid had sprayed out all over the wheel well. Not sure if this was a defect in design or someone had intentionally cut the line.

3 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 05/23/2017

The contact owns a 2007 Cadillac Dts. While the vehicle was parked, the gear was shifted into drive and the traction control and service brake warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing or repairs. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 122,000.

4 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 02/22/2017

Not a complaint but a clarification regarding complaint number 10946916. I had over heating on my brakes down a long downhill run. In drive (d) the Cadillac freewheels and does not engine brake, requiring constant use of brakes. The local Cadillac dealer said I could not engine brake in my Dts. That resulted in the overheating the front brake disks. But after contacting Cadillac corporate they informed me I could use d3 and d2 to engine brake. That would have prevented the overheating of my front brake disks. The front disks should still have absorbed the heat without overheating but at least now I can go down that stretch without concern.

5 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 12/18/2016

We have an approximately 14 miles downhill run from the ski slope to I-95. The Dts does not compression brake. Cruise control will not hold a downhill speed. So I am on the brakes most of the way down. Halfway down the hill the front end starts to shake violently I am guessing the front brakes are warped from the constant use. I make it down the hill and drive onto I-95s. After 30 or so miles the brakes cool and no more vibration. This is not the first time. I asked the Cadillac dealer how to put it into compression braking and they said I cannot do that. There has to be a fix or a recall on that. It is a Cadillac which retails for 65k plus when new. The front disk brakes should not overheat and start to warp. Normal speed was the speed limit but without compression braking the Cadillac Dts accelerates rapidly and constant brake use is needed to keep it to the posted speed limit. I only have 38k on the 2007 Cadillac Dts. It is the high performance full up luxury model.

6 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 12/27/2013

Engine stopped. All power equipment ceased to function. I was able to get to the side of the freeway. Put the car in neutral, turned the key and the car started and continued for the duration of the 200 mile trip. The second time approximately three weeks ago my wife was driving in heavy city traffic when the same problem occurred and she lost the use of all power equipment. She was able to put the car in park and get it started again without incident. I called gm complaint department. They instructed me to take the car to a dealership and have a diagnostic test done on it. This was done and nothing was found to be wrong with the vehicle. I again called Cadillac complaint department and opened a case. This time I was told to take the car back to the dealership and ask the service department to recheck it. I informed them I have the diagnostic report showing nothing wrong was found. They suggested I take it back and have the service people drive the car. This didn't make any sense because I don't know when and where the problem will occur again. What was I to do for a car while the dealership had mine? I inquired of the Cadillac representative if this car may have the same ignition as the cars currently being recalled by gm. They were unable to answer that question. They finally stated the only remedy was to take it back to the dealership. If this problem occurs again someone could easily get injured or killed. I would appreciate any assistance you can give me on how to resolve this matter.

7 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 12/27/2013

On 3/11/2014 your office responded to my inquiry on 3/11/2014 concerning the above vehicle. In your response you stated I would have access to a report within 72 hours @ https://www-odi. Nhtsa. Dot. Gov/vehiclecomplaint/. Upon accessing this site there is no where to input the odi number that you stated would give me access to the status of the complaint. Please advise as I intend to pursue this issue further until the vehicle has been repaired or replaced. Thank you.

8 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 03/13/2009

After prolonged and continuous braking, car will pulsate or shake as if the brake discs are becoming warped. Is obviously connected to heat buildup, as normal braking is not affected.

9 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 07/16/2008

The contact owns a 2007 Cadillac Dts. The contact stated that while driving 50 mph, the front end of the vehicle began to shake. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The dealer replaced the brakes and the rotors, but the failure continued. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 20,000 and the current mileage was 106,000. The consumer stated ever since he drove the vehicle off the lot, there was an occasional shaking when driving downhill when he applied the brakes. It occurred consistently at certain parts of down grades, but it did not always occur in all down hill situations. The problem went away for a short time, when the dealer replaced the rotors, but when it did recur, it was even worse. Updated 08/02/12.
