Car power shut off while driving on the highway to church and almost got in an accident. Pulled to the side and smelled smoke. Lifted the back seat and opened the fuse box and looked. Lifted the fuel pump fuse and it was burnt. Me and my family got stuck on the side of the highway instead of church and spending time on a holiday.

I was traveling on stevenson expressway at 55 mph when the fuel pump relay overheated and melted, which burned up the rec (rear electrical electrical center /fusebox). When the fuse pump relay overheated it shut fuel down going to the fuel pump, which caused the engine to stall. When the engine stalled the car cut off, causing me to loose power steering. Because I was traveling in the middle lane of a three lane expressway at a high rate of speed, the vehicle started deaccelerating and I couldn’t control the vehicle with no power steering, I couldn’t get over to the shoulder. This nearly caused a wreck putting me in harm, because vehicles around me were accelerating at 55 to 70mph. All I could do is put my flashers on. Coast to a stop, and hope no one rear ended me, which nearly occurred. Tl-the contact owns a 2006 Cadillac Dts. The contact stated that while having a oil change at the dealer (lindsay Cadillac of alexandria 1525 kenwood Ave, alexandria, va 22302 (703) 935-4445) who inspect the vehicle and noticed the brake line and fuel line had corriasion and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who inspected the vehicle and confirmed corrosion was present on the fuel line and brake line. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 44,000. Ck.

Check engine light keeps coming on after a check and reset. The car has a lost of power and runs real slow than its like the problem never existed. This is the code I keep getting. P0420 code bad catalytic converter.
I was backing my car out of my driveway, as I backed onto the road,the car suddenly quit running. I tried restarting it,but it was completely dead. . . I had to call a tow truck and the car was taken to a local Cadillac dealer. . When I went to the dealer the following day,I was informed that the fuse box under the rear seat had shorted out. . . I was told there was not any recalls on the fuse box that they new of. . I was told a new fuse box and associated costs would run $716. 00, I had no choice but to have the repair work done. . The fuse box cost alone was over $400. 00. My car had 48,000 miles on it when this occurred. . I have had many cars in my time and never had a fuse box short out. . If this occurred on a highway,I would have lost p/s,,p/b ect. And the results could have been fatal. . . Gm is aware of this,but to myknowledge has not issued a recall. Incidently ,the dealership had fuse boxes in stock. . . . . .

Tl- the contact owns a 2006 caddilac Dts. The contact stated while sitting in the drive way the contact noticed oil leaking from the vehicle. The failure happened without warning. The vehicle was taken into the dealer where it was confirmed the vehicle was leaking coolant and oil and the intake manifold, associated gaskets, seals, and water pump. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The vehicle failure mileage was 90,000. Kh.
During a family outing, I noticed a rear tire that had lost air pressure again. I had no choice but to visit a discount tire, to diagnose the problem. We hadn't run over a nail nor a screw, but had become the victims of Cadillac's inferior production. The chrome plating began to peel, and separate from the alloy wheels. I was forced to purchase inferior aftermarket wheels in order to get my family home. The informative, and integritive agent at discount tire showed me that all four of my stock, chrome, Cadillac wheels had prematurely corroded, forcing my wife and I to replace the wheels. We have been spun, dismissed, and ignored by numerous Cadillac customer experience agents, regarding this issue, in spite of numerous complaints logged by other Dts owners, posted onto gminsider. Com. Cadillac has been well advised of this failure, yet Cadillac fails to accept that their product is substandard. My local dealership, coughlin motors of marysville, ohio, is reticent to resolve this issue, but, my question is, doesn't the president of our great nation, ride in a Dts? if I'm not mistaken, what are the conditions of his wheels? well, our vehicle had the same wheels. It is my professional opinion, Cadillac has produced an inferior product, and they should be held accountable for it. After all, the president of the united states, and his family, should be welcomed to the same durability and longevity, of Cadillac's product, my family and I, are entitled to? after all, didn't all of us bail out general motors in adverse conditions? in short, Cadillac has produced yet another inferior product. Isn't it time that gm answers for another inferior product, that affects our safety? granted, the potus has another Dts limo at his disposal; and I'm grateful for that. Sadly, my family of five, does not.
Fuel relay melted I replaced it and melted again just like my other Cadillac Dts. Both are same year and also same miles. I get that fixed by dealer on 03/26/2013 aand this one at dealer since last Monday. Problem relay boxes is going to be replaced just like the other one. Melting is very dangereous when relay box right under the back seats.
Fuel relay keep burning melting due to overheat. Relay boc is under the back seat I dont think that should be safe and has to be recalled all Dts I have this one happened over two months ago this car was 93325k at that time. My other 09 Cadillac Dts has same problem and in dealer servise right now and that car has 94200 k on it. Both 2009 Dts is it just a quincidance.
I started to smell smoke in the car, I shut the engine, the smoke was coming from under the back seat. I removed the back seat, and smelled the fuse box, and opened the fuse box cover, and I found that two relays were very hot, and one of them was burned, and melted all the way into the bottom of the whole fuse box block. I had the whole fuse block replaced the part alone was $225. 71 plus installation. A year later same exact thing happened, I went to the dealer, and I was told that there is no recall on this fuse block. So I guess I have to do this all over again if I want to drive this vehicle.
