1 Wheel problem of the 2007 Cadillac DTS

Failure Date: 11/26/2019

When I bought the car the owner told me the power steering was bad and that they would fix it. They replaced the power steering pump but it didn't fix the issue. When I took the car to get inspected so I could get it titled, it failed the inspection due to a leak in the power steering high pressure line, the rear third brake light being broke, the top motor mount failing and both the front and back wheel bearings being worn. When I took the car back to the dealership, the owner got in my face and shoved me making me leave.

5 Wheel problem of the 2006 Cadillac DTS

Failure Date: 01/08/2015

During a family outing, I noticed a rear tire that had lost air pressure again. I had no choice but to visit a discount tire, to diagnose the problem. We hadn't run over a nail nor a screw, but had become the victims of Cadillac's inferior production. The chrome plating began to peel, and separate from the alloy wheels. I was forced to purchase inferior aftermarket wheels in order to get my family home. The informative, and integritive agent at discount tire showed me that all four of my stock, chrome, Cadillac wheels had prematurely corroded, forcing my wife and I to replace the wheels. We have been spun, dismissed, and ignored by numerous Cadillac customer experience agents, regarding this issue, in spite of numerous complaints logged by other Dts owners, posted onto gminsider. Com. Cadillac has been well advised of this failure, yet Cadillac fails to accept that their product is substandard. My local dealership, coughlin motors of marysville, ohio, is reticent to resolve this issue, but, my question is, doesn't the president of our great nation, ride in a Dts? if I'm not mistaken, what are the conditions of his wheels? well, our vehicle had the same wheels. It is my professional opinion, Cadillac has produced an inferior product, and they should be held accountable for it. After all, the president of the united states, and his family, should be welcomed to the same durability and longevity, of Cadillac's product, my family and I, are entitled to? after all, didn't all of us bail out general motors in adverse conditions? in short, Cadillac has produced yet another inferior product. Isn't it time that gm answers for another inferior product, that affects our safety? granted, the potus has another Dts limo at his disposal; and I'm grateful for that. Sadly, my family of five, does not.

6 Wheel problem of the 2010 Cadillac DTS

Failure Date: 06/01/2014

(1) my 2010 Cadillac Dts is equipped with the factory optional chrome rims. The car was built the end of may, 2010, and by June, 2014, with approximately 54,000 miles, one rim was so badly corroded it would no longer hold air. One other rim was also corroding badly, but was still holding air before I replaced it. The other two rims had some corrosion, but to a much lesser extent than the others. The low tire pressure warning sensor had stopped working on the tire that was losing pressure, but is working satisfactorily on the new rim. In my opinion, Cadillac should be forced to recall any of these rims that have corroded--true, michigan uses salt on its road during the winter, but this is something Cadillac certainly knew about and that it sells a larger number of cars in michigan. Further, the list price for replacement rims from Cadillac is approximately $900. 00 per rim--$3600. 00 for all four! I could live with the corrosion in terms of appearance, but a rim that will not hold air is definitely a safety hazard, and it occurred fairly early on in the vehicle's operational life. (2) my 2010 Cadillac Dts had the bulb on its upper driver's side front turn signal burn out after four years and 54,000 miles. It turned out it is a two-person job to replace the bulb (which is a mundane, traditional incandescent bulb, not a led) and a labor cost of more than $200. 00. The replacement is not something even a fair-to-middling shade tree mechanic can undertaken--it really requires a dealership. I am afraid that a lot of people, when they find out the cost of replacing the bulb, will simply say to hell with it. The safety hazards caused by that is intutively obvious to even the most casual observer. Cadillac should be forced to warranty all of its exterior lights and not exclude them from their warranty, extended or otherwise.

7 Wheel problem of the 2007 Cadillac DTS

Failure Date: 11/13/2007

We have a severe vibration in our 2007 Cadillac Dts that starts at 55mph and also repeats itself as we come to a stop. Think this vibration is always there, but we feel it at these times. This vibration was so severe that on one occasion we were coming down a mountain side in virginia when it became so violent we barely were able to bring the car under control and bring it to a stop. This is a systemic problem with Dts general motors advised us that their engineers are very aware of this problem with Dts and are working on the problem, but have not figured out how to repair. . We have done everything they have asked . . Realignment, new pads, new rotars, four new tires . . They are quite frank that the problem exists, have several complaints, no answers, and there will be no recall as their plan is to solve the problem by attrition. They have stopped making this model as a result. Hope no one has a serious accident before this happens. Our ride and safety are both now compromised on a daily basis.
