general problems of the 2007 Cadillac Escalade

-traction control/stabilitrak light comes on and the major thing is the camshaft and bearings that cause the low oil pressure shut off engine warning light. . - when low oil pressure shuts off the engine light comes on it will cause your vehicle to stall and shut off wherever you at. . -independent service center - no just the independent service center worker - yes! start out with the traction control/stabilitrak light and then the low oil pressure shut off engine warning light. . Loss of all electical power to vehicle as though battery failure. Dashboard goes out at times and I am unable to see how fast I am going or if the car is even in drive. The air bag issue not being repaired has caused electrical issues. It has cause the locks to go up and down, the raidio to quit and not come on, all electronics in dash to stop working while driving and I ran off the road because I had no control. Took it to a mechanic that was able to let me drive it and not the electrical issues are back. It completely shut down while I was turning on a bypass and I almost got hit. I had to have it towed. It did not show any codes to the mechanic and it did the exact same thing to me yesterday. This vehicle will get me killed if it is not repaired.

Started having issues with back door locks and automatic lift gate suspension system message is on.

Faulty bearings on camshaft failing causing inadequate oil pressure resulting in "limp mode", subsequently leading to engine failure and illumination of stabilitrak, abs and parking assist icons. "limp mode" cuts engine off and driver loses ability to control the vehicle, 1 fatality and 3 injuries have resulted because of this.

Takata recall- I called my local dealership to have this remedied and was told gm does not have a fix for this? I have already had my BMW 3 series and Chrysler 200 airbags fixed so why is gm having issues with replacing them? the electrical system also has enormous amounts of corrosion at all the system connections, I saw there has been a technical bulletin posted for this, so what has gm done to fix this issue also? I just bought the Cadillac and the airbag service light was on and I was told it was due to this recall not getting done.

After driving the truck from work one day, all the lights on the dash starts flickering, there was a loss of power, no acceleration and speed gauge drop completely. Electrical problem.

I been fighting this p0011 code for over a year. I've replaced the whole engine, sensors, ecm, and other things associated with this problem. This code can be anything. Doesn't make any sense for 100 things to be associated with 1 code. I've owned many vehicles and I honestly never experienced a problem like this. Costed me over 10k in diagnostics, parts, and labor. I'm not the only 1 with this problem. Very unfair. Cadillac should be responsible for this problem. This engine design has too many flaws!.

I have contacted Cadillac customer service regarding my steering wheel smoking and burning a hole in the leather when I use the heated steering wheel feature. They are claiming that it is the result of normal wear and tear which I find absurd. The dealer representative stated to me that in the 10 years he's been working on gm cars, he has never seen this happen. Also, the dealer charged me to replace all four internal door handles after the metal degraded and started cutting our hands. Apparently, other Escalades were covered under a recall but not my VIN. I think both should be covered by gm given the serious nature of both defects.

Heated front seats not working. The problem with this, is that the connector that attaches to the climate control seat module (ccsm) (which is located under the front passenger seat), overheats to the point that the connector has melted. I believe that this is a fire hazard and Cadillac should look into fixing it. From all the posts on this subject in the Cadillac owner's forums there are alot of owners having the same problem and concerns.

My vehicle engine light comes on and the gas needle bounces back and forth. When the needle bounces back and forth from full to empty the engine light in the dash will come on and may stay on for awhile but will then go off. When I put fuel in the tank the light will go off but once I start driving again it comes back on and the needle bounces back and forth. We were pulling out of a parking lot after the SUV was parked for over an hour. When I smelled something burning. Smoke started pouring in side the car on the driver side from under the dash board. We pulled off the road and called 911. Opened the hood and 3ft flames shot out, the alarm went off as smoke and flames filled the air. A lady in a home nearby ran out with a fire extinguisher to assist. Fire and police came, report was filed. My lungs burned for weeks after and I had a chronic cough. The car was towed to the dealer. The dealer found it to be a manufacture defect but gm refused to work with us on costs. We had to pay full price out of pocket for repairs. I filed a complaint with bbb, gm, and many others but got no assistance. I also had issues with this SUV and the transmission failed at 100,000 miles which the shop said it was unusual but for a transmission to fail at this low of miles but in these transmissions it is a known problem. It could have caused an accident if failing on the highway when doing 65 and locked up. There have also been issues with the fuel level sensor which many people have also reported, defective windshield which gm refused to replace. The film over the windshield was defective which caused blurry vision in the drivers line of view. I had to pay to replace the windshield. Gm has not backed any of the issues with this SUV. It has been a lemon since day one. I have all receipts for repairs.

I was driving my 07 ext Escalade on Jan. 3rd 11;50 at night when I noticed that it was unusually hot in the truck and a block later it smelt like hot plastic or burning hair and then I saw some smoke from inside the cab so I slowed down and then it got worse so I jumped out of the truck will it was still moving it ran into a snow bank I got up and ran over to the truck and shut the door hopping to smother out the flame of its air but the truck was running and the heater was still on called the police not to long after I saw the dash onfire then a window blew out and the whole thing was on fire after 15 min. The fire dept. Shows up and buy 1;00 am they put the fire out.
