Brake Electric Antilock Problems of Cadillac Seville

2002 Cadillac Seville. Consumer writes in regards to ignition problems. The consumer stated on five occasions, the vehicle shut down, while driving on the freeway. On one occasion, the key would not come out of the ignition. Also, there was a problem with the abs, that needed to be address.

The contact states there is a NHTSA recall campaign 97v064000 concerning the abs brakes. This vehicle has the same problems as indicated in the recall, but it is not included in the recall due to VIN. The vehicle has not been repaired due to excessive cost.

Anti lock brakes locked when the brake pedal was depressed on a wet snowy road at 20 mph. As result, vehicle hit a curb.

Brake pedal goes to floor at stop sign or light steering is loose and uncontrolable at passing speed it will take you to the right or left when passing a vehicle while sitting still and brake applied steering wheel shimmies when pressure is applied.

Driving 60mph w/cruise control on; brakes making noises on & off; smelled something burning. Got out vehicle & noticed brakes & hub cap on driver's side hot; steering vibrates all the time; cruise control went out. Took to dealer for repairs.

When driving at different speeds, sometimes when brake pedal is applied, it will go to floorboard with reduced stopping distance. Dealer has been contacted.
