The contact owns a 2006 Cadillac Srx. The contact stated that while driving 40 mph, the engine stalled and veered to the right. As a result, the vehicle crashed into a guardrail and suddenly veered to the left. The vehicle landed on grass and the air bags failed to deploy. The driver sustained injuries to the left side of the neck, the leg and the ribs. The front passenger sustained an injury to the left arm. The driver and front passenger did not require medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The contact received NHTSA campaign 14v394000 (electrical system) and believed the crash was related to the recall. The approximate failure mileage was 60,700.
