Defroster/defogger/hvac System problems of the 2011 Cadillac SRX

The contact owns a 2011 Cadillac Srx. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle the air conditioning unit could not be turn off or adjusted or switched to the heater making the front windshield defroster inoperable and creating a visibility hazard for the driver. The cause of the failure was not determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in the NHTSA campaign number 11v149000(visibility). The contact indicated that the vehicle had experienced the same failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 149,000.
